You can buy "time cards" for ISK, which is in-game money. If you know what you are doing, which high level char, you can earn enough ISK for 30 day time card in just 2-3 days. Then if you make even more ISK, you can buy extra time cards and sell them for real money to other people. It's all legal. Also, even if you decide to quit EVE in a couple years, you can sell your char for lots of ISK and covert it to cash thru time cards.
