The Patch Notes for the Red Moon Rising content update are now available for your viewing. This free EVE Online expansion has been over 6 months in the making and not only brings new content and features to EVE Online, but also resolves many issues and introduces a number of server and client optimizations for a more enjoyable gaming experience. Presently, there are more features undergoing the Quality Assurance process, so the patch notes are not complete. More information, including changes made to the Research & Manufacturing system will be updated over the weekend. At this time, we are still planning on a deployment next week. If we are not able to meet this deadline, deployment of RMR will be delayed until after the Holiday season. We do not think it would be fair to introduce an unstable client the in the week of Christmas. Not only would the staff have a less than enjoyable holiday season fixing the client, but the player community deserves much more than a mediocre playing experience. We will make the RMR deployment date announcement over this weekend. Regards, kieron Community Manager, EVE Online

There's a change to Projected ECCM that's mentioned, but nothing about the changes to normal ECCM and backup modules (ie changing form a flat bonus to a percentile one). Does this mean that that particular change did not make it into the patch?Dolce et decorum est pro imperator mori

I'd be more worried about the new manufacturing system that thing has had pretty much 0 testing with the current bugs.... pushing something that big onto a live environment without major stress testing is a recipie for disaster.

"Due to Unicode changes, a maximum character limit of 3,500 characters has been added to killmails. This is to prevent errors and lack of receipt of a killmail when a mails length exceeded the limit." You *are* getting rid of all uneccessary characters in them right? Loads of extra spaces and such which could be eliminated. Not to mention all those repeated "type:"'s. And the "fitted"... "Corpse cannot be fitted onto ship. Only hardware modules can be fitted."

Kieron, a while back, and at the fanfest too, there was mention that the lvl 4 agents in the main hub systems like Jita and co. would be moved into low sec empire with RMR but it is not in the patch notes. (At least not that i saw, but after reading it, I was starting to see double and the text was burned into my retinas... but there you go) Anyway, is this going to happen now or is it being puched back further/abandoned? ------Shakor Clan Information Portal Every man has a devil. "Using Control + Left Click to target will also halt target lock if used a second time on the same target." This wont work with the current invunrability timers, it will make it sooooooo hard to lock anything in a fleet fight if there is even the slightest lag. (infact why bring this into the game how is it an improvment). "Initiating a stargate jump outside of the maximum activation range will result in a pop-up window informing how close to the stargate you have to travel to initiate the jump." Again why bring this "feature" into the game, do you know how many petitions you will get from ppl losing ships at gates due to lag???? I already checked with Oveur to see if this was possible. The R&M changes are in, they just need QA over the weekend and fine tuning. kieron Community Manager, EVE Online

More observation than anything, someone posted a size chart on forum showing the size of the new capital ships (sorry cant find it at the moment), so happened to notice that carriers (if accurate) are not that much bigger (in some cases smaller) than freighters. So my point will the carriers be able to operate in 1.0 - 0.3 space via stargates to get around or from what is on the test server they seem to only use Jumpdrive to get around or will they be able to do both????. Small corps want to know Also i have to ask, as Titans, Motherships and Carriers are all classed as stations, so i know they cant dock in a station, does that mean that you can use them with freighters, i.e. transfer cargo between them???? (Please say yes and if so can you keep it in the game, please ) Last thing when will the mining stuff be put on the test server? Also good work all

That will be based on standing too, and the POS will most likely have something to do with the territorial warfare. If nothing else they will provide a good base, and being able to put up a POS in enemy high sec territory to use as a base doesn't make sense. You shouldn't have to mission ***** to get standings - you should be able to earn them through fighting for your empire in PvP, just as you supposedly are when you womp the guristas armies in Jita, day after day.

You shouldn't have to mission ***** to get standings - you should be able to earn them through fighting for your empire in PvP, just as you supposedly are when you womp the guristas armies in Jita, day after day. i think that to fit us, the players, into the EVE story, we should have some kind of big wars between the different factions/races of eve - pick ur favouite corner of the galaxy, and shoot the sh!t outta everyone else who didn't sign up in your local 1.0 LOL ---------------- Tom

That will be based on standing too, and the POS will most likely have something to do with the territorial warfare. If nothing else they will provide a good base, and being able to put up a POS in enemy high sec territory to use as a base doesn't make sense. As for now, with RMR, remember that you are putting up a POS in space belonging to that empire . Low sec... sure who gives a damn. I agree too. But the point I was making was that to play with an empire, you need to be at least a positive standing. Given more thought on factionw warfare, yes a lower standing should be better to let new players join the fray early. My current standing with the Minmatar has taken over 2 years to build. A bit much really to wait to join faction warfare. The war would be over by then. ------Shakor Clan Information Portal Every man has a devil. You can never rest until you find it.

Quote: Commanders no longer spawn at the wrong stage of the 'Gone Berserk' mission. I cannot figure out the exact meaning of this. Does this mean commanders will no longer spawn on "Gone Berserk", does it mean it'll spawn on a separate wave, or was something bugged and has that been fixed to let one spawn on the last wave? Nor was moving level 4 agents to low sec, they simply said they are moving heavily used agents out of current hubs. No guanentee they are going to low sec. The other 3, though I agree with you.

I don't think I've seen this asked yet... The patch notes say that player owned structures will be allowed into up to .7 space with RMR, dependant upon a corporation's status with the sovereign... Will we be allowed to bring dreadnoughts and other jump-drive ships into space with security up to 0.7 sometime then? If dreads are supposed to be anti-POS it would seem that they should be allowed to go into space where POSs might be.

No. Dreads cannot use jump gates and you cannot activate the cynowhatzit fields in high sec. I heard empire POS would be limited in what could be deployed, and the size of the tower. A hand full of battleships could take out a small tower on it's own. Especially if they don't allow the deployment of extra guns or EW modules. They will be mainly mining outposts with refiners and moon mining stuff. ------Shakor Clan Information Portal Every man has a devil. You can never rest until you find it.

Some things are unclear still to me. An answer is greatly appreciated. 1) Moving of agents. Should I take my Inoue lvl 4 agent-offer offer before RMR? If my agent moves to low sec, I'm losing a lot of LPs, which I would rather cash before RMR. If they don't move I will wait for a better offer. Please, please, pretty please with sugar on top, don't stealth the agent move! 2) Instas and/or "0 km" warp option. Nerfed? Not nerfed? No opinion? 3) In a distant past, attribute boosters were mentioned as a possible new content item. They would raise a certain attribute for a limited amount of time (no Viagra jokes plz). Are these boosters completely scrapped now? Thanks for the info.

While this is not official, moving an agent to a different system will not errase your history with that agent. You will still keep your LP from what I would imagine. All that changes is the station where you find that agent. Quote: 2) Instas and/or "0 km" warp option. Nerfed? Not nerfed? No opinion? Well, I disagree with it being called a nerf personally, but it has already been stated by Valar that the warp distance change that appeared on sisi is not an RMR feature and was only being tested quickly in the very early stages for possible future inclusion in another expansion. Maybe in Kali once they have worked out a more complete system. Quote: 3) In a distant past, attribute boosters were mentioned as a possible new content item. They would raise a certain attribute for a limited amount of time (no Viagra jokes plz). Are these boosters completely scrapped now? I don't think they have been scrapped. They have always been a Kali feature as far as I was aware. 'Combat Boosters' are listed as possible features ot Kali on the Features page. I would guess attribute boosters will also be part-in-parcle as well. ------Shakor Clan Information Portal Every man has a devil. You can never rest until you find it.

Friends, expect no exact release date, its oviuos from Kieron's last post they are adding more things daily aswell as CCP's continual reminder to watch the patch notes before it actualy comes. I side with many that feel that a finished product is best for a release even with delay. But even the best of us want all our Xmas toys before the right day. I'm highly anticipaiting drone changes and many many other things. I can wait for less lag and 64bit, which wont even be in RMR but a continual testing process they are oviously doing aswell.

Edited by: SengH on 13/12/2005 19:20:17 Originally by: kieron Some new additions to the patch notes have been made. New missions with a possibility of dishing Gang and Missile Implants and T2 Manufacturing tool rewards are new entries. Yes, the first means that Gang and Missile implants are being added with RMR. More changes and information forthcoming. Originally by: patchnotes Some COSMOS Cold War mission sequences have had loot drop changes. Now some of the pirate faction mission NPCs have a chance of dropping gang implants. Kieron what if we have already done the pirate faction missions COSMOS agents... will the status be reset?

pirate blood lines would be good but wuold also require high sec areas within pirate 0.0 lands (for newbies and the like) instead of concord the blood raiders could provide protection for newbies - could be a good way for pirate (that said BOB controls the blood raider stations so) ..... how would that work

Originally by: kieron We are still in the process of filtering the bug reports and fixing the bugs as fast as we can. The decision to deploy or slip has not been made yet. At this point in time, this is all the information that is available regarding RMR deployment. Can we have the promise of a giant, neon sign on the front page telling us either way? Hunting through forum threads for a post that might or might not exist isn't overly fun.

SUPER! ... just a few things to add... ... please release before the holidays. I'm sure January would benefit more with bug fixing, but any way you splice it, RMR will have its probs... it won't be perfect. Its better to get it out there and mold it. ... no one has responded to the questions about corp wallet divisions. Is this in RMR? ... will lvl 3 missions have similar rewards to that of lvl 4 missions? Many don't have the time for lvl 4s, and I'd like to have a small chance at getting something nice that is usually found in a lvl 4... such as the new implants that were referenced. ... cool

So is the patch gonna be made available for manual installation, or are we gonna have to wait and go thru the server? It's gonna be busy.
