Ok, I'm thinking of getting one of these, so I want to know what you think about it. If you got it or not, if you are going to get it. Is it as good as it looks?  or is it crap?  Ok let's hear it.
P.S is perfect dark zero fun?

Not as good as it looks. You either get fairly good graphics and **** framerate or good framerate and mediocre graphics. The physics simulation is good though. Seriously, nowhere near as good as the hype. Never will be. And they overheat. Just spend that 480 on a new g-card, much better than a console

Cheap looking plastic
Amazing graphics
Id buy it just for the wireless controllers tbh.
Be warned
Full potential on High defination tv's / pc monitors only normal tv makes it look kind of normal
definatly worth the cash,
Get project gothem for it btw awesom racing game
/me waits for ridge racer

Its good...but 1st generation console games are and ahve been crap. Maybe wait until next year, summer time for 2nd generation.
I doubt very much the ps3 will have quality games on release.

Wait until they release the 'upgraded' version of it with all the bug fixes. There have been a few complaints about crashes, and lock-ups while playing so far. I am personally going to wait until Halo 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion come out before I get mine.

I've heard a lot of mixed things about it, from being the best console ever (which technically it is but a console is only as good as it's games) to being full of problems. I am personally waiting for the first price drop, when the console is a little more mature and it's capabilities are known, there's a good helping of games, etc.
It looks great on paper, but I'm particularly concerned about it's backward compatability...if it won't play older XBox games I doubt I'll buy it as I have a large collection of XBox games, and also it's media capabilities...I hear it can play CDs and DVDs out of the box but want to see how it fares over a couple of months, rather than buy it during the initial rush when it's the most expensive.

as things go the current set of games are not great for showing its potential.
imo out of PGR3, PD0 and COD2 i have for mine C0D2 is the only 1 that really is to the stadered visualy the 360 can produce.
but that does't mean the games are not great.
PD0 at first seems a ittle awquared but more i play it the more i like it.
especialy the multiplayer darkop: infection (zombies basicaly).
Dead or alive 4 is going t be good if ur into that type of game but the big one that evry one is waiing for is GEARS OF WAR and ofc halo 3.
but tbh as for games on the consols, this generation looks to be alot more balanced.
Rumor has it the 360 will get MGS and GTA titles, maybe even the next FF game after 12.
there are a few draw backs on it though.
my wireless controller 8 days after getting the consol is on it's second set of batteries so its time to be buying a dam good set of rechargables.

I realy cant understand why the Eldar scrolls games are even on consoles, they work so, so much better on the pc.

I would not buy an 360, it doesnt look anything special from what ive seen.
I heard that the PS3 might be releasing with the next GTA game?

none of them seem to be offereing anything that I havn't seen before.
But As far as getting the mates round for a few beers smokes and serious fun. Xbox 360 with perfect Dark zero looks a good way to go. Perfect Dark on the N64 Was awesome.

I cant wait to get my hands on one of these, well actually i can cos no way im paying those crazy ebay prices. They'll start being more available soon enough in a couple of weeks so will pick one up then (i hope)
Just out of interest did anyone actually just buy a core unit by choice ?
I cant see why anyone would want to the HD is one of the main selling points to me

Isnt the ps3 also a blu ray dvd player, thats pretty much a next gen dvd player right there.
imo golden eye was way better /emote pwns your spawn location with proximity mines

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how great looking a console is, how fancy it looks, how great the graphics it can reproduce are, when 90% of its games are utter pony. Thats the big problem with the whole industry atm, most of the games are derivative, unimaginative, formulaic crap, with nice graphics.
The platforms to play them on are irrelevant. They are all much of a muchness, ie can reproduce graphics prettily. The real issue is software. Games manufacturers are now making games for the masses, which means generic, formulaic guff. Fanboy arguments over which platforms pwns the other is retarded and meaningless, if most of the games are all crap.
