Agreed. Carriers should not be the least bit common. They should be special, just like the pilots who fly them. The ships should be symbols of an alliance's military might and economic power. The pilots should represent the most trustworthy and exemplary conduct within an alliance to merit the communal effort to be placed in command of one of these grand ships.
OFC, I'll still sell them to whoever has the cash.

Carriers will be fairly common id imagine, more so they will be flown by people like me, im not special in any way, not in any alliance... symbol of my military might.. err unlikely im in a one man gang...
Conduct... nahh iv'e nobody to answer to within my corp, so ill just fly one anyway
Great thing about eve isn't it... freedom, which in turn can bring you great reward if you put in time and effort.
Id buy that ideal over the above

^^ And seeing as how you can't take them out of low sec, good luck keeping it alive with no alliance gang mates or colors on it, m8.

Well fortunately low sec isn't alliance controled, only asshats live around where i do, there easy to deal with when it comes to it.
Carriers can dock i belive? just like my dreads..... freighters... so i guess ill be fine and dandy

WTF? it said most major corps will deloy 1 or 2 carriers? I can easily imagine every major corp having about 5 players who would buy the skill book at 1bil. Make it cheaper and we will just see fleets of carriers.
Hell I bet my tiny corp could buy one of us the skillbook. And were hardly major.

CCP have complete statistics on the contents of our wallets.
If you can afford it, then the price is exactly where it should be.
Meanwhile, I can afford 5000 Kestrels with that same billion isk and probably have money left over to pay people to fly them.
