I have been "THAT GUY" on occasion, the guy who just suddenly feels the need to tell people to "DIAF" or "GFYWYSF", and so on.
And I get banned from channels. It sucks, you live you learn, and you try to better cope with ship losses before you are banned out of all channels in EVE.
There however in lies a problem, once you get banned on your main you can just create an alt and viciously troll those channels because they can only ban characters instead of accounts.
I propose changing chat-bans from character specific to account wide. This would make the channels a more enjoyable place to be for most, and remove targets for trolls so they can get back to flying space ships rather than trolling space ship pilots.
MAKE CHAT CHANNEL BANS ACCOUNT WIDE!

So you are saying we might as well remove the ban option because it's so ineffective?, making the ban account wide is just going to improve on a feature already in game.
Both ban and block should work on accounts and not characters, banning someone means you don't want to listen to the person not the character.
I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous. |
