I used to be able to do other things while playing eve. Now I can't even play music while playing eve, and eve looks like it's in slow motion. The mouse cursor skips around.
I don't know why this patch is so slow but it may be that it's not sharing the CPU time properly (not yielding cpu control enough). You can make it do that by adding periodic calls to the Win32 function Sleep(0); -- a value of 0 means it'll return immediately if there's nothing waiting to get done. This will speed it up a lot, especially while loading the game. This allows the system to read-ahead and optimize itself while the game is loading... works much better.
Other than that, it could just be a memory leak or something. I don't know why it'd be like 25 times slower now than it was, but I would like it fixed ASAP. It's not very usable in this state.

I also noticed that performance has gone down, using two Clients on EVE before was much smoother then what I am seeing now.

I'm getting hideous stalls and graphics glithces (polygons render white or in primary colors) with 1165 and Nvidia 45.23 drivers on a Ti4600. Other 3D apps are fine.
EVE is unplayable.

Ive always gotten game freezes, after about 10 jumps HD will just choke on and on and on and on...then alt-del time. No difference now unfortunatly :( Ship insurance a must because it is garanteed i will die this way. ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Eve has never been better for me. Instead of just say FIX IT, give a list of your hardware and drivers. That way they actually have a chance of figuring out what people with slowdowns have in common. And THEN they might be able to fix it.

I see many improvments in speed and image quality in patch 1208 on Chaos. Items look much sharper (I'm pretty sure I'm not just crazy). Right-click menu's pop up instantly, warping into an roid field or other "graphically stressful" area is smooth. This is even while playing two accounts on the same computer with 30+ testers in Chaos (which used to bring it to a laggy crawl). Hopefully these improvments will follow into Traquility when they patch it. ------------------------------------------------ "The best defense is a dead opponent." - Avaton White
