Edited by: Crellion on 14/12/2005 21:21:52 hmmm I would think raven would still have enough mids for 1v1 against anything in RMR while the scorps highs wont cut it even more now with the new tanking abilities.
PvE dunno really ... huge tank with 8 mids and if 4torps and 2 guns and drones can kill the biggest BS out there eventually and 8mids can tank the spawn indefinately you might have a winner if you dont care how long it takes /me shruggs

I don't know... the scorp can be a decent ship as it is only missing 2 slots on the highs which many NPC tempests do not use for offense. Its defense is far superior to anything in the game save the apoc. However, this ship is expensive to keep up for an NPC due to cruise missiles/torps pricing. There are many differnt ways to kit it for NPC as well. Gank setups are not uncommon and if speed isk per/hr isn't a requirement then it is plausable to use this ship.
However, the reaven is pretty sexy for NPC although expensive to field for NPC compared to other races options. I suggest the Raven however, since 1 on 1 there is not many to stand up to it post patch.

scorps suck for NPCing.....if your gonna NPB dominix hands down is the best....
scorp = good tank and crap dps raven = not easy to tank but very good DPS
but dominix to me is tank/damage dealer king for NPCing.

Actually, a scorp isnt that bad when it comes to npc, raven is of course way better, but I never ever hear that any caldari pilot uses drones.....why is that? I use drones in both scorp/raven, and its rocks. I mean everyone keeps saying raven cant take out intys/friggs....Bull sh1t, its easy with drones, and btw guys, when npc with scorp, dont use torps...waste of money and dmg, there are ways beside the "usually" ones to fit raven and scorp for greast NPC hunting, and when it comes to pvp, we all know how to fit the raven, the scorp?, dont do 1vs1 pvp unless you got drones, WS , webbies and multis, thats way you dont have to tank it so god damn hard, its a EW ship, use its EW skills....I dont even have a shield booster on my scorp. never lost in 1vs1 either, or 2vs1 for that matter.

Err....
(hint:Raven has arguably the best tank in the game, and is undeniably the best NPC ship in the game)
(hint no2: You can target Jam enemies, and since number of neemies you fight at a time is reduced in RMR, Scorpion will be fun in PvE. It's fun now, even. Will be good after)

raven is not the easiest to tank in game. dominix hands down is easy to tank. but raven noway...maby i just suck but for shield tankits only got 5 med slots to work with no? so you use 3 hardners and your one booster with amp no AB or with AB your one booster no amp unless you go with only 2 hardners then you go amp/booster/ab. otherwise you go no AB then your just a duck slow tortis. sorry but i don't call that easy to tank....wheres your extenders? energy modules = diagnostic T2's if i got it right. not quite as good as 4 cap chargers like domi set up with AB. heck my dominix has 2 extra low for 2 nanofibers for zipping around to loot stuff. try that with your Raven.

I fly both for NPC (domi and raven) and when I know I need a large tank I will go for the domi every time. Even with TII shield stuff on the Raven is very brittle in comparison

do you listen to your self thats not how you tank a ship and raven has 6 mid slots got its simple 4 pduII 1 damage control II in low 1 xl II 3 t2 hardeners 1 shield boost amp 1 heavy cap booster you easily have an unbeatable tank right there

ROFLMAO scorp owns 1v1, sure you can get past its jamm, but youd be sacrificing loads of slots in order to do it.
NPC'ing is hard tho, 4 tubes doesnt cut it.

i use a scorp for PVP and NPC..
Its far greater in NPC than pvp:
NPC: it has great defences but poor damage one larger more able NPC types. However with the RMR changes my scorp has performed like a charm in 0.1 complexs, jamming and nosing targeted ships..
PVP: It has its uses 1v1, but its far better used in a 2v1 or 2v2+. 1v1 its damage output is arguable, and you have to choose over its bonuses on ECm or tanking.
2V1, 2v2+ it works far better, having a high damage output ship doing the fire power frees up the scorp to do what it is designed to do. aslong as there is'nt another scorp or your skills are'nt crappy, you can jam up to 5 other ships (if they don't have back up mods for ECCM)
It really comes down to the pilots preferance / skills to what ship is better over another.

hmmm I always wonder why do ppl talk only about a scorp with missiles. the ship has NO damage bonuses, so you are welcome to fit ANYTHING that you can fit on it. Even rails or arty. ------------------------------ Removed due to offensive content - Laqum

i find this discussion not that compleet really. The thing is: why would you use a scorpion VS npc, when the ferox can do it better?
I mean, lets face it: battleships are meant for lvl 4 missions, but the scorpion lacks dps for that. Now the ferox has a bit lower tank then the scorpion, but makes it more then good with his dps, besides its cheaper to replace :)

scorp is a very good ship for 1v1.... but it's dmg output is miserable now... You can't lose tho... if they can't target you :) I doubt you can get through the opponents tank even with a heavy neut on ... especially if it's a pvp tanked raven for example, he'll sit and tank you til' the end of time... If someone forgot to put an expl or EM hardener on armor or shields respectively, you're still going to kill them, albeit very slowly.
But yeah if u want both PvP AND NPC, Raven is the way to go, especially with the RMR changes in... it's one hell of a ship... And you can still use EW on it for pvp (if u don't want to tank).
All about target jamming |

Scorp is possibly the most nerfed ship in RMR for PVP. You can't break anyones tank with your pitiful damage, and all forms of EW got nerfed (ECCM boost plus damp/tracking disruptor nerf/bug).

*Hands Hugh a cookie.*
IMHO Raven is much easier to grab and then NPC, but if you have a TON of skills and you're a hardcore Scorpion pilot...then the Scorpion can be really, really good.
A Deimos jumped me once while I was ratting in 0.0, but since I had 2 Hypnos Multi's slapped on I managed to jam him and the frigs that were scrambling me and got away. Now a Raven would be much more ideal to fight a HAC if you have good mods and skills, but a Scorpion is fun to play with if you need to get away, jam to help your tank, and you're a younger pilot like I am...
