Well, after being in the game for a bit and checking out all the cool new stuff, followed by having to pick my jaw up off the floor, all I can say is: this has been one HELL of an awesome job!
If I ever make it as far as Iceland on my vacation travels, I'm buying y'all some alcohol!

CCP is not just a rarity among companies these days - it is UNIQUE! I have never seen a company with developers and staff so devoted and open to their clients. Even if not for EVE, I think I'd keep playing just on account of how awesome the devs are.

You cannot please everyone. I actually like it as I run it on the highest resolution (1600 x 1200)and it can actually read what the type saya now as opposed to squinting my eyes.
Well done on the patch CCP. Despite losing a Vexor to one of your new missions  I'm loving the changes. It's great to have a challenge!

Cudo's CCP, awsome patch, and only afew hiccups, this is the smoothest patch to date.
Took a bit, but when it came up, the server stayed up. Not went up, crashed, restarted, crashed, ect ect. for 2 days. She's running damn fine. Keep up the good work!

I concur. Job well done. So far, this is the smoothest patch by far, despite some new bugs have crept in (all that I've found are trivial and I think I'll wait to see if a few don't settle down after the high demand of the patch file settles and a few downtimes).
If I were President of CCP, all developers and QA folks would be on a mandatory 48 hour downtime. I'd start it on a Thursday so they can merge it with the weekend.

They screwed the font. How complex is that? It is a total failure from the guy that did it, all the way to the last QA person that signed off on it. The players hated the last unreadable font. If the devs had done the job we are paying them to do, they wouldn't be trying to force another crappy font onto the player base!

I am a software developer. My background is in medical device software. You know, the kind where the health and safety of a patience relies on my ability to get the job done, and done right. Frankly, the failure here is in square one. REQUIREMENTS. It isn't so clear to CCP, but there are lots of players who expect a readable font.
All this patting on the Dev's on the back is like watching the winner circle at the special olympics.

This was a congratulatory thread to the devs for the people who actually appreciate what they've done. Why did you feel the need to post (on an alt nonetheless) sounding like a 9 year old girl with a skinned knee? Take it to one of the other threads dedicated to complaining...god knows there is never a shortage.

Let's keep in mind that we didnt have to pay anything for the upgrade, and that they patched it in just over a day. That is incredible, you guys come on here biting the hand that feeds you? Shut up and let them fix the "problem" instead of flooding them with whiny-arsed complaints. Maybe you'd rather they didnt give out free content and patches in the future?
I dont want to bash all of the people who are agreeing, just this seemed a good place to post.

Somehow I think you knew what he meant...they aren't charging anything additonal to the monthly fee to deliver an expansion..or upgrade...or whatever. Unlike WOW who is charging separately for the expansion.

I most certainly do! And I would EXPECT they would charge nothing additional for CONTINUOUS updates and expansions. Unlike WoW (apples/oranges), you don't pay for 1 month usage to train 1 high rank skill to lvl 5. |

Im new here, only jsut out of my 14-day-trial, and I appreciate that things arent goignt o work perfectly when you patch up a game played by almost 70,000 people, over the internet.
Sure, there were problems at first, like I'm constantly getting stuck while Auto-Piloting, but I trust that'll be fixed by the time im back from school. There's a lot of content added in this patch, including some new Mining Barges which I cant wait to get my hands on :D - so Im not complaining about a few more hours downtime. I trained a 5Day skill. Anyone complaining because they had a 20Hour skill on really annoys me.

My love of CCP is well known, especially since FanFest. I love this game and respect the Devs and the company like few others.
But for the first time in a while, this issue has me rather insanely irrational.
Congrats on the effort you guys have put into this and I've no intentions of leaving or anything of that nature. EVE is irreplacable for me. I'm just hoping that the above is one of the things that needs to be "ironed out".

LoL, Dev's thanx for the smooth upgrade. I haven't been able to play yet as I was asleep and at work now. I'd expected it to be buggy as hell for a week or so but as far as I've read this could only take a couple of days to get near perfect . Thanx for the upgrade and have a Grolsch from me too

I'm new to this game (2 days) but from what I've seen CCP are a great company who care about their customers and have a passion for their product, that in itself seems to be rare these days (SOE ...).
You are doing a great job CCP, and I look forward to playing this game for a long time.

They are talking of the end of marathon ..... Does it mean they have almost collapsed to the herculean task. Well great job even fighting murphy's law. You and your all faithfull customers can enjoy christmas.

I completely agree. Not gonna name names, but some of the people whining on coldfront last night need to be slapped. Eve is by far the best MMORPG on the market imo, and CCP deserve it. CCP to take over the world tbfh \o/
