Originally by: Lucifer66 I just tried this new patch and I hate it. Here is a list of just a few of the things that..well...suck.
1. The font is illegible and placed against a dark background to make it even more so.
I think this is the only point on which we agree...
Quote:
2. My drone bay was cut in half.
That's because drones are now twice as effective as they used to be, and they can be more effective still if you train the new skills.
Quote:
3. My weapons do only half the damage they once did and miss more than half the time.
Which weapons are these? I haven't noticed any problem with my raven's torpedos or my tempest's projectiles.
Quote:
4. The lag is horendous and the game plays at less than half the frame rate it used to making battles impossible.
That's odd. I had no lag. At all.
Quote:
5. My cargo hold was reduced by 1/4
What ship was it?
Quote:
6. The research and manufacturing interface is way too hard to use and very difficult to understand.
Can't agree or disagree, here, as I've never manufactured anything the entire time I've played EVE. However, I just bought a heavy web drone BPO and will have the skills to use 'em after downtime, so we'll see just how difficult it is.
Quote:
7. Yes they did add some new ships, but you can't buy any of them. None are available on the market.
That's correct, as far as the tech 2 ships go - they will be released like all other tech II equipment: via the lottery system. IIRC, mothership, titan, and carrier BPOs should be available as they're tech I. Good luck affording them, though.
Also, the changes to many of the tech I ships have been so massive that some of them might even be considered new ships. Also, battlecruisers are finally USEFUL.
Quote:
These are just a few of the things I don't like about the patch. I liked the game before and that is why I bought a subsciption. Not to struggle trying to see what i'm doing on my screen with a ship that has been made so weak I don't even want to fly it anymore.
Again, what ship?
As for liking it the way it was before, what, exactly, did Cold War do for you? Personally, Cold War didn't do a damned thing for me, but RMR certainly has and I'm looking forward to enjoying it immensely before the next major change hits (i.e. Kali).
Quote:
When will people learn that if it's not broke don't fix it?
Umm...the only thing that wasn't broken that they "fixed" was drones, and some would say drones were broken due to the lag they caused to people jumping into a gatecamp. Otherwise, RMR's been a mass of combat boosts: many tech 1 ships boosted, new shield- and armor-tanking skills that increase resistances, invulnerability fields and damage controls don't suck, now, cap booster charge volume was halved, torpedos, cruise, and heavy missile volume reduced, heavy launchers no longer suck the big one, etc.
Quote:
I'm canceling my account untill they bring back the game I paid for.
Sorry you feel this way. I know how you feel, because I went through the same thing with SWG, which I quit after being nerfed one too many times (that was almost a year ago). I will say, however, that you should stick with it for a bit and give it a chance. RMR was only just deployed - give it a week, at least. -Wrayeth

but...there is something missing...... something that would make patch day complete....
/me dashes to forums and lo the one thing until thought missing there on page one in all it's glory.

I must say that i agree with that the Font is irritating. With my high resolution it tends to be a bit hard to read. But i can life with it(And tweak it). On point 4, i am based in Isaziwa, and i had no lag at all this morning, and the place was having 100+ pilots as always. Get your pc clean of Virusses/Spyware/other background programs before you blame your Lag on the game. And the new ships that have been added are ofcourse, player build. Do you expect some guys to have a BP, build a few and sell em within a few hours?
Please think before you post. 5 of your 7 reasons on why you are quiting is just plain nonsence. And do you really think that CCP takes a roll back just because a few "I quit" threads like this one?

i love the new RMR.
and for all thost who are wondering about the drones, which are NOT nerfed at all...CCP did it to reduce lag because all the fleet battles with Domi's spweing drones everywhere were causing enormous lag. cant remember where i read this, dev blog probably...but the drone improvement, in my opinion, should reduce the amount of lag that we suffer too.

RMR is awsome, now those whining that their drone bay is cut in half consider this...you can now only use 5 drones at the most...so why do you need the same size drone bay when u cant even use the same amount of drones? if your having problems fitting enough drones in your bay..have you considered that you may be usng the wrong size drone? instead of trying to use heavys try mediums which do more than enough damage with the skills trained up. from what i tried on SISI last night before the TQ patch im am overjoyed at these changes..and i fly gallente ships so Drones are very important to me. The only gripe i have is the stacking problems for dampners/disruptors..but im sure that will get fixed in time..if not ill adapt and change my style of play.
But i suppose we cant have a patch day without the sulky children coming on to threaten cancling their accounts if they dont get their own way _____

You can change the size of the font in the chat window....the large setting is much bigger than the default in CW was.

I think the changes made in RMR are great. I love so many new things. Stuff like ' Reload All' & Variations on items - very good idea.
Back to Drones... I went ratting last night and was very impressed with the damage output of the drones since the patch. Im having to learn all the new skills like everyone else so its not as if I have more skills.
As for lag, yes we had lag for a while but after the database problem I had a trouble free experience, no lag and only 1 CTD. Not bad for patch day.
I suggest some people with bad lag try to get yourselves out of main hubs for a few days and you will see a vast improvement.
Well done CCP.. Big job and great improvements.

I love this patch, my drones are more damaging than before (and actually return to the drone bay when I tell them!)..... my turrets are doing more damage than before..... my tank is more resistant than before and I've had no lag or drop in frame rate...
Only annoyance is the Sensor booster/RSD thing but I'm sure that will get fixed

They could implement a quiz. You can't login after a patch, before you aren't be able to answer 10 questions about the patch notes. ___________ 'Only ships can be assembled, this is a Frigate.' |
