Well Bust my britches.....it IS Xfire!!!
I tried exiting Xfire after reading this thread, and saw no increase. It was after I logged and logged back on without xfire that the FPS shot back up to normal.
My other machine doesn't use Xfire, so maybe this is the difference.
WTF ... I've used Xfire since it came out......what is going on?

Strangely XFire hasn't caused me an issue with Eve, even with the current patch/install but it has caused me problems with other programs (C&C Generals/Zero Hour springs to mind immediately)

Yo it was Xfire for me as well. Xfire definately needs a patch to fix this, I was kind of fond of it. But i will definately stop running it now to keep my fps up.
PEOPLE CLOSE XFIRE AND IT SHOULD HELP! :) \o/ The Damsel is no longer in distress. She was rescued enough times that she got the hint and installed better security systems at home. |

Ahhh...I *knew* there had to be an explanation...Can't wait to see if this fixes things for me...My fps dropped from 20-25 to 5-8 with RMR...was almost ready to cancel my subscription for gods sakes. Travis, Xfire is a gaming message service dealie, like MSN messenger, only for gamers. It also keeps track of how long you play and other gaming details.

Yay.
Good to know my years of QA work pays off for something, now lets hope CCP or the Xfire team can solve this issue. ____________
