it would be great to have political skill which had an effect on the eve universe from economy to even Fleet fights - perhaps even managing Concords resources , it would be fun also if you had political rivals for Systems , this could tie in with other skills because you would need cash to campaign for a system , im not sure how the votes might be handled and how you would influence others , but it would be very cool to be able to govern a planet then to a system then to a group of them, while also making income from the Tax lol :-) |

I feel this is already in place:
1) Start a Corporation.
2) Form an Alliance.
3) Move to 0.0.
4) ???
5) Profit! |

Influencing other people is a RL skill that cannot be mimicked in an artificial manner/construct. At least, not the way you seem to be imagining it. "Just because I seem like an idiot, doesn't mean I am one." ~Unknown |

What's in place at the moment leans more to combat , what im suggesting is introducing a political system that works with votes or something similar to govern star systems , where players can challenge each other with political action to Have a Title over that area and benefit from income made there etc, but without conflicting with the current Null-sec Soverenty..... Obviously low sec and Null sec would be out of reach to enforce. |

So basically you want there to be a "peaceful" version of null-sec SOV in high-sec? Yeeeeah... no. One of the EVE's core themes is "conflict" with other players... al la "Old Western" style.
And no... give people the ability to gain SOV in high-sec and can guarantee you that that large 0.0 corps/alliances with thousands (sometimes tens-of-thousands) of potential votes will move right on into high-sec and "lock out" the general rabble of casual and carebear players. i wouldnt say its peaceful you would have to work hard against others, i think there could be room for it to tie into combat getting others to help you get influence in a certain system for votes perhaps , and in return with your skills in government / position you could help a corp in return for a vote by setting up special structures like warp gates that go from High sec to null sec one way etc.. thats just an idea , but you can see how it can tie into the rest of the game world and include support combat of course. |
