We can explore that idea.
Thanks. |

TheLostPenguin wrote:Also +1 the proposal to make an update of this kind regular, maybe monthly is too much to ask but surely you could give us a quick update like this quarterly, so long as the more nervous management types can be persuaded to allow you to to show the spikes in crashs every 'expansion'. At the very least it'd be a semi-formalised time to put across any trends you continue to see, ie if users of certain outdated drivers are causing an abnormal number of crashes for themselves you could give a gentle poke to about it
Whilst I'm 'Management' I'm really not nervous about this as it's a great idea. Also, the guys are very keen to keep feeding this data out to people both as information and to make sure we keep working our way through the bugs.
Watch this space for details on how we will do this. Senior Producer - Carbon |

Vincent Athena wrote:BTW one thing Ive not seem mentioned in either blog is how this works, if at all, on a Mac.
it does work on Mac's. I dont think it's been mentioned in the blogs (woops), but for what it's worth our internal testing verified it works the same as the PC. |

We haven't tested it on wine. i guess in theory it should work, but theory doesn't always pan out. |

Vincent Athena wrote:When the crash reporter is triggered, do I see anything? I have had one crash to desktop, and absolutely no messages were shown, just eve window, then desktop. That is how it was pre-crash reporter. Should I be seeing something different now, or did my crash somehow not trigger it?
The process of the uploads is fairly seamless (personally i love it) and you wont see anything clientside unless you run logserver. |

Jon Hellguard wrote:CQ crashes on the latest beta drivers of nvidia (installed to run bf3 beta). My own fault for using beta drivers i guess.
Going to check that out. any change you could file us a bug report please with a dxdiag report? if we can reproduce internally, then i can also get Nvidia on the case.
thanks. |
