Keep your pants up man, give it time and the lag will go away. It kind of says so itself, after a patch like this, there's bound to be lag for a few days afterwards.

The real question is "how many people will subscribe to Eve once the bugs are ironed out BECAUSE of the expansion?"
My guess is many many more than those whiners that quit, boo hoo, good riddance i say.

How much do you think this happens for all of EVE's expansions and patches? Quite alot. Castor patch made a lot of people mad. This is not any different. Things change in mmorpg's. It rattles up the community until things settle down then the next patch comes and repeats the process. This is normal.
For some odd reason people get all carebearish in the head and think right after a content patch that everything will be fine and have very little problems.
How much you want to bet if they spent two more weeks...no let's say 3 more months before they released RMR, that the community would have reacted in the same way. There will always be issues when tranquility is updated. This is normal for EVE.
Give the dev's some time to diagnose the situation on TQ so they can get to fixing the known issues.

Some people I know have lost hundreds of millions of isk due to node crashes, bugs and CCP says there logs dont show a node crash or there logs dont show anything...

i hear that WOW is good atm..so why dont u go to my account, enter your name and PW, then select cancel subscription and go play that..while you at it take the rest of the whining idiots with you..EVE will be a much better place for it..wont be long before ur all replaced by the new players drawn in by the new patch..and oh yes on your way out leave me your stuff will you...ill put it to good use

i think its pretty normal people whine whit this lag, its not possible to play.

Probably about twice as many who actually stay after they wade through the crap that we have to put up with. We've all seen how CCP manage to put a glossy coat on vertually everything bad that happens, and as soon as they realise that, they'll be gone too.
And after they realise all the "Great community" really is, is a handful of players that control the forums...

The problem is: The Addon was released, gaming- and newssites posted some news about this ("FREE expansion, get your trialaccount here blabla"). So probably some new players will head on the site, download the client and start a trialaccount. They will not have much fun with this game atm and they tell their buddies "Stay away of eve online! It's a unplayable lagfest!" Yeah the problems may be gone in a few days, but until this new players and subscribers (and CCP, of course) are just frustrated as hell.
A little sitenote: Please CCP - patch on monday next time, so a lot of the problems will be fixed until the weekend. winner/winner.

Every forum dweller with an IQ over 20 is sick of them because they provide no constructive argument, and have no basis in fact. And for that matter, we dont care if someone unsubcribes due to ignorance and petty problems with patches, one less insignificant whiner to get our hackles up.

Change happens, and people deal with it. When people started using guns instead of bows, they didnt go "OMG NERF!" - They adapted and lived on.

not a fan boy..just some one with enough inteligence to relise that a content update of this size will have problems for the first few days after implementation..especialy when people like ur self where maoning at ccp to get the patch done before christmas..some one with enough brains to relise that crying like a little child on the forums wont fix it. some one who has been through 4/5 patches and seen the same problems time and time again..only to see them dissapear in the week following the patch...so shut up, grow up and wait...then ull see u made a massive fuss over nothing.

This is the least disruptive patch yet, so things are improving.
The warnings were there! Stay out of harms way! Keep a long skill training!
If people leave now, then they were going to anyway and the community is better without them. Go find something else to do for a week. Excellent time for consolidating your assets. I'm not even gonna attempt any solo missions for at least a week.

The size of game content introduced shouldn't matter at all here. What matters in case of server problems are all the optimizations and "brand new ways" of implementing the way game handles its content.
Things will improve once devs find a bug that causes database to perform some bad operations or flood the network processing part

I think I'm gonna make this reply to each of these threads I see.
You are entitled your opinion OP, and no one here can dispute your opinion, that is the beauty of it being personal and subjective. However.
This is a fantasy game. Within it, the devs are gods. Anything that happens within it, of their creation, they are fundamentally responsible for. However it is not a utopian system and it relies not on fantasy to power it, but the reality of logical coding and server hardware.
If you can tell me you've had a gaming computer never ever have any problems or issues and then tell me your solution hasn't been wiping all of the data and taking a long time to rebuild it then you still have no idea what they are dealing with because their computer is 1,000 of your computers and their help desk doesn't exist, they build it, they fix, their issue.
However what you can do, when you sit in frustration, is reflect upon the opinion you are entitled and what it is you wish to achieve when you express it. You can imagine a group of developers sitting in a room, around a table, their attention expressed specifically upon you. You are frustrated and angry, you can yell at them about how your evening after work of 3 hours of killing virtual rats has been degrading.
What you will see is a group of gamers, who've had probably less then 3 hours of sleep the last few nights, staring back at you out of exhaustion, frustration and anger because the world they've built for you, is not made in a utopian world itself and beyond their control "s**t Happens". As you scream and yell at them, telling them how you pay for this game, remember that this expansion is free. Because they are gamers like you, and chose unlike every other broken expansion creating company out there, not to charge you for the content.
As you yell at them remember that though your 3 hours of npcing is in jeopardy, their livelihood is at risk. Their wives at home, their children. It is not without interest on their part for them to see you happy. When you are done expressing this opinion, you will have shown them nothing they do not know. Nothing they themselves are not already upset personally about. No way or means for them to resolve an issue that they are spending almost all their time working on, only pointing out the obvious issues that everyone is dealing with. And if you think that them having to look at your angry frustrated opinion is going to change anything anymore then them staring at the hungry eyes of their chilren, the servers of a world they've built by hand out of a dream, their fellow brother developers all bandied together like soldier for a fight for the common cause, then you are simply deluding yourself.
Your opinion does not have the power to help, if you question that single phrase then explain to them how it can, because I'm sure they would take it. If not then consider what many of us are doing.
-Waiting gladly because this expansion wasn't made in another game by a same company that resulted in several days of total gaming loss.
- Waiting gladly because we weren't asked to pay additionally for a look at their coding capabilities, just asked to be patient as best we can.
-Waiting gladly because we know, having either met or been around these developers for 2 years the quality of people they are. You can have arguments with people, but certain kinds of people you know, that it's not worth a small argument, you won't find these people elsewhere, value them.
-Waiting gladly because after 4 years of other MMO's. Simply finding one is like getting a girlfriend, after all the looking, you'll accept issues, and work towards something rather then say "If you can't give me perfect I'm looking elsewhere"
In the end, it's your opinion, but airing it here won't help them, your or me. And if you are adamant enough to leave over this, leave this genre, this is the best you're gonna get.

The lag is temporary, the bugs will be resolved and there are no exploits.
