Is a shame that this is your first post, schmid, as you at least try to reason what you have posted. However, I happen to disagree that running an out-of-game service, that takes up your gaming time and thus the ability to make money, should be given charitably and, even if that was the case, I find it even more disagreeable that someone would expect another to sacrifice their leisure time for the benefits of others.
The reasons given for the closure and amendment of the iron killboard I shall leave to the owner of that domain to sort out, needless to say that BoB stand behind him 100%.
What you seem to misunderstand, however, is our motives for doing things. We play this game to have fun, alot of our fun comes from laughter - particularly at the utterly stupid things that many of our foes do or say - it is no surprise that people don't "like" that, for there are very few people who can handle being laughed at as much as we tend to laugh at others, particularly when they take this game far too seriously.
It is very rare to find people joining BoB, however, we're not an easy group to like or get on with - we do that on purpose, we're not here to please people, we're here to please ourselves. Unfortunately, in teh Realpolitik world of eve:online this inevitably causes grief and inconvenience to other players. This is not something any of us would wish on anyone in the real world, but it is something that we detach ourselves from in Eve - for our own enjoyment and our own effectiveness as a unit.
There are many different kinds of people in the corps of BoB, to a man we WILL always keep our word - those that do not, whilst they fly under our banner, find themselves corp, alliance and cloneless very quickly - and none of us wish any ill will to any other player in Eve - on the contrary, we hope you succeed, it gives us nice, new, shiny things to shoot at
[G] will always have my upmost respect for the way you conduct your game, you've got a leadership core that mirror my own values in eve - we just execute them differently. Maybe one day people will understand that, until then well, with respect, we actually don't care.
