who's idea was it to allow teams to ban what someone else can bring to a fight! this is just plain stupid...the tournaments were designed to test people... now its not so much since they can ban what they dont feel like preparing against... it's turned into something like the olympics allowing professional players to compete thus basically banning those who the games were intended for...the youth... i am really disappointed with this development...

I don't see the problem. Forcing the need to adapt is a much better test of ability, than allowing a team to bring the same ships without any change. It's also much more interesting for the audience. Two bans also isn't enough to prevent a counter to any tactic. It just forces people to either use different fleets or work around the limitations. It can even be a downside, since you give out information about what you're weak against, so it might actually hurt you, since the other side can get a confirmation what you're likely to bring. Assuming you're not using the bans for misdirection, which is also another positive the ban system brings to the game. All in all it's a much more interesting and entertaining system, so I don't see any real downsides to it. |

It actualy makes sense in a way, when ur doing a fleet ops u give the chance to the enemy to reship to counter what u have too. With these bans u force other teams to think out of the box, i think its briljant. Formaly Lt Banaan/Runwithit |

yes the only prob is it makes it way more expensive to have all ban replacements ready to go |

do you enjoy seeing just 2 same boring setups pit against another in every fight? if so then your opinion is your own. most people want to see entertaining fights and bans make it possible. |

This has been offset by the rules banning 4-6% hardwirings which in my past experience was the bulk of the cost of flying in the tournament. You could easily drop 1.2b per pilot on hardwirings alone in the past.
I think it adds a great dynamic, and in particular becomes fascinating later today and tomorrow when we reach the best of 3 and best of 5 series. |
