We unlocked last batch of aurum 2 weeks ago.
Why devs can't give us it? Is it so hard to launch one command?

Personally, I hope they are waiting until a little later to give it - either when they enable more clothes, or when they add new things (eg, if they were to add custom ship paint jobs to the store).
Edit: Agree with Chribba wholeheartedly - there needs to be an ability transfer aurum. |

No, not in their's interests.
They have to give us aurum now, so most of us will spend it, and then they will add more clothes, so if you will wish to buy them, you will need to spend isks or real money.

EXMP: I have 3500 of aurum. I bought cloth for 3000. What can i do with a rest 500? Answer is realy simple: NOTHING.

there's nothing lame about giving the customer an incentive to spend some extra money.

I think you have it backwards - allowing transfers between characters will potentially reduce profit potential off the gifts. Without transfers, you may be inclined to convert a plex to aurum to top up your account because you can't transfer and can't pool aurum to afford that more expensive item. If you could transfer, then you will be able to get it off alts, or sell/buy aurum off other players, reducing the usage of plex for the short term. But transferring is something that is in the best interests of us as players, so I want it :)
Regarding items available, I suspect they will be inclined to increase the NEX store first (rather than after we spend, like you suggest), because the market is already flooded. What they need in order to profit from the NEX: players converting plexes to aurum. But right now it's simply bad value to use aurum to buy items, because they're for sale well under their isk:aurum exchange value. Suppose that you're wanting some item in the NEX right now - you *could* convert a plex into aurum and buy it. Or you could sell that plex for isk, and buy those items off market at much better value.
Right now there's far more incentive to hold onto aurum and wait until it is worth more (e.g., more NEX items, or transfer to dust players who can use it to better effect). More importantly, there's no incentive to convert a plex into aurum. Better to get the isk by selling the plex and buy what you want off market. Too many people have wasted their aurum gifts buying items of clothing to sell at a low price, just to get a little isk. |
