Originally by: Nev Clavain First of all thanks CCP for nice patch and lots of things to play with and improvements over the xmas period.
However my main gripe is this: it seems that while nerfing drones - which i didnt have too much complaint about really, you have rolled back some of the caldari missile nerf.
Now a Caldari BS is back to the state where it can fit a rack of cruise launchers, target painter and the right ammo, and can expect to hit any opponent it ever encounters for reasonably damage - almost regardless of any other factors: range, target speed, sig radius, transversal/radial.
While this is great news for caldari players/flyers, it A) seems a bit unfair on the rest of the races who actually have to think about hitting a target instead of just locking (not strictly necessary for caldari either 0_o) and pressing a couple of buttons.
B) Leaves the Raven way out there in terms of mission capability with the changes you have made to npcs and drones.
So maybe i'll just throw in the towel and start training Caldari too - because it seems the sheer mass-pressure of whining about the infamous caldari missile nerf has reversed a change which alot of people thought made the game fairer.
I have to admit its early days and i dont fly caldari so i dont have first hand experience of using most missiles post patch, but from what I've seen, and heard - my caldari corpmates are getting hits on small npc drones that they never got even pre-nerf.
Anyway it would be nice if someone could tell me i am totally wrong: pointing out to me what I am missing, and why missiles (especially cruise) aren't in fact unbalanced in terms of the amount of sp you need to put in to make them a universal solution to most foes.
I am not a whiner, I don't want to think that things aren't right in there current state - but I am struggling to see it any other way.
Erm cruise are the same as pre patch nothing has changed at all, well at least not in the damage/sig radius etc sense, their size has been reduced to allow you to carry more, but thats it, it sounds like you're basing your assumptions on fictional data m8, maybe go try them for yourself?
Heavy missile launchers have a rof bonus, and light missiles have been adjusted so they actualy damage their intended target, other than that theyre the same m8 :)
