Another one? Oh well... Yea, WiS, yes please.
Been seeing a lot of these recently, and oddly, they are 90% supported. "In the age of information, ignorance is a choice." |

Avatars have absolutely nothing to do with social interaction, which will be done via text chat even with avatars. Tbh avatars are for guys who lack imagination, and are incapable of immersion without them.
Because the plethora of Avatar based RPGs are for people without imagination. Just confirming that games like Neverwinter Nights (where people created/modded/scripted entire worlds and server with custom lores and completely new story lines with massive player-bases of role-players) are for people who lack imagination. Ok this would be cool, but what about all the guys playing female characters :D
Well I guess they need to use one of those voice altering utilities (I have one but never use it). ... either that or rename all of their female characters to variations of "Dr. Girlfriend" (got one of those too).
Eve has one built in. Haha.
jujumagumboo wrote:Vatos Amigo wrote:Not sure if anyone else agrees with me or not But I would like if CCP can give us answer to this.
They have already answered you. The CCP CEO actually apologized for what a terrible idea WiS was and promised to focus on actual Eve content. For the last two years they have done that and the game has done very well. Real Eve players don't want gross roleplayers infesting our game.
Check your facts. CCP, since then, have repeatedly said they have all intentions of eventually implementing WiS. "In the age of information, ignorance is a choice." |

Correcting me on grammar doesn't improve your lack of an argument.

There's not really a great deal of point arguing with you. Because you won't see sense, and you definitely wont post sense. But just for old times sake I'll prove you wrong one last time. A quote from one of the devs responsible for the latest prototpye speaking on the issue less than 6 months ago;
CCP RedDawn wrote:WiS is "shelved", not, and I re-iterate, not, completely and utterly abandoned... the overall consensus is that we, as devs want WiS to be out there and blowing all your minds right now. Some things take priority though, and some things take time Dead is it? Yea, all right. You obviously know best. "In the age of information, ignorance is a choice." |

And when I look back at what CCP has been doing for us in the past 5 years, "underwhelming" comes to mind. When pubbies running missions in high sec space get a story written about them by the BBC maybe somebody will care. The fact is that nullsec is where all this game's publicity comes from.
Mission runners, no.. for obvious reason. But highsec pubbies have hit BBC news before. A few times if I remember correctly.

In fact most of the BBC news articles that are about Eve, are about economics. Where do you think most of the trade occurs? I see you didn't read the post I was referring to. You seem to get really worked up when you see my posts...try and take a deep breath and then make your points.
No, I read it. I think it's you who's misunderstood. "In the age of information, ignorance is a choice." |

Yea, that does seem to be the extent of his argument.
I mean, there are actually some good arguments he could have used. But so far I haven't seen him use any of them. Someone called him a pigeon which I thought was spot on really. "In the age of information, ignorance is a choice." |

I hate to say it, but your probably right. I've been playing for nearing five years now, and I am starting to get bored. Not because of a lack of Avatar content (let's face it, Eve kept me interested for at least 4 years before I started getting bored), but just because every expansion since Crucible has been a little disappointing. Not massively disappointing, just not quite as good as the one before. Each one has expanded on an area of the game that is really only for a small number of people. Inferno was the whole faction warfare thing, which is great but I had already participated in faction warfare and had no intention of going back to try it again. Retribution was a bit of an exception because I loved the bounties thing, just because It could make me a small amount of my ISK back from PvP, but Odyssey was horrendous. A boring bunch of tweaks that didn't really affect me in the slightest, and I've never really enjoyed exploration and the new crap mechanic didn't change that.
But I've already invested too much. I keep telling myself I'll quit if I don't like what they say is going to be in the Winter expansion, but I probably wont. CCP have me trapped. "In the age of information, ignorance is a choice." |

Wow, watch out people, this one has a debating skill comparative to jujumagumboo. Careful with your thinking there, you might blow a blood vessel with reasoning like that. Maybe you should have a lie down before you over exert yourself. "In the age of information, ignorance is a choice." |

Its great when someone quotes your post and then says something that validates your entire argument. Thanks for the help bro. It just fits so perfectly. Excellent fashion choice. Seriously, I don't believe that you managed to colour-coordinate your lipstick with your hair like that just by clicking "random". That frowny pout expression must have taken some time to perfect, too. Fact is, people's avatars ARE important to them. It's literally the first thing you do when you create your account, after all. So let's give all this mockery a rest, shall we? Whatever you say Commander Riker. Got to love this persons contributions to the discussion. They might as well not be posting at all for all the difference it makes. Well... Aside from their posts keeping the topic on the first page. "In the age of information, ignorance is a choice." |
