When I enter the game on my character, the 'Entering Game' screen just stays at 100%, nothing happens, and I wait for up to 15 minutes. I have to Alt+F4 out. I've restarted the game, but it does nothing. Is there anyone who could help me please?

same problem... thing is i was ingame, wanted to jump... so i jumped. and it just stood there not loading the new system. i couldnt chant or enything. so i quit. tryd relogging and now same stuff. just stops at 100%

i think mosty due to patch being bugy still and there like 20k of players which better then last week so uber lag..

mine loads up until it has to load my current station where it sits, I did leave it for about 15 minutes and then decided this was rediculous, this is after the server problems and upgrading to red moon rising, Please help me!!!

Same problem.
Odd thing is as you (at least as I) Alt-Tab out the black goes away and you can see the game running underneath.

20.5k ??? seriously that amount of people on servers that probably can just about hold 17k its not going to run very smoothly at the moment. i think maybe putting a cap on the amount of players allowed on the servers so that the servers run ok for the majority of players when they get online.
maybe this could be a tempory fix till they finally finish fixing the servers properly

20 mins of "entering game" and then I decided to just forget it and go play something else. Hopefully I can get my character back from limbo later...but like it was said, this is what happens when 20k+ people are all swarming the network at once...

I am stuck in limbo too. Stuck in Jumping mode. Exited the game, logged back on, now stuck at Entering the game, 100%. This has happened to me a handful of times the last day or two. Can log on fine with an alt and deleting cache has no effect. Only thing that appears to solve the issue is when the servers are rebooted. Argh. Reboot soon please.

This is one of the most occuring problems but CCP have just ******* left it along ******* oblivious to the ******* problems that the ******* player base has with the pants log in system.

not thousands of new players...their all ALT's. Yet again I find myself being PWN'd by a game....I pay to play a game....I have less lag playing CS:S on an 8bit system using a 28kbps dail-up and the severs on the moon!
They said they would be sorting it so Eve can handle more stress, players. Strange thing is....it cant! Maybe they will sort it....but as far as I can see....Eve's goin down the tubes.
I know 7 ppl that have quit eve in the last 2 days because they HAVE to pay for "Eve-Offline".
I know there are those out there that like to brown nose and say CCP are doin their job etc, cut them some slack....I agree they are working hard...but hey...get it working on the test server first...NOT the live server.
Take it back to the test server, roll back the Live server, debug it, get it working, sort the servers out to be able to handle 40k+ players, which one day will happen ( providing Eve ever comes back to being "Eve-Online" )then maybe...just maybe, all the hate posts will stop.
EDIT - Only been waiting 45 mins to enter game. First it was stuck on char selection...and now "Entering Game - But not" window.

And for those getting a little hysterical read the news at character selection screen,there is an explanation of what they are doing to sort things out,in a weeks time this will all be forgotten,well till the next patch/upgrade anyway

Exact same thing happend to me. I'm still stuck at entering game. Tryed rebooting my PC, but didnt do anything. I was jumping into low sec too, if its at "entering game" is my ship just sitting at the gate in low sec?

NOW it just sits there forever. CCP, I REALLY need to change my skill training, I am serious. I hope it's fixed within 3 hours or so, because I am not staying up all night just to change one skill.

I've heard of different variations of this problem; tried a couple methods and found a couple ways around my particular variant of this persistant loading screen bug.
Okay, this is what my particular version of the bug is: Sometimes when I load into the game (when I log out in, for example, a station the previous night), I get the "Entering Station" dialog box with a black screen; the bar goes to 100%, but nothing happens. I can still hear the ambient noise of the station however, so that kinda implies that I'm logged into the game, and that I'm in the station, but that this stupid loading screen just won't disappear properly. When I discover I'm able to CTRL-F9 (which removes all GUI elements), I can see my ship in the station and use my mouse to rotate the camera around it, I'm pretty sure that the problem is with that stupid black loading screen, not with the loading of the game itself.
Okay, so two ways I've found to solve this. One, is to just delete your cache folder in your CCP/EVE/ folder. It should clear up, but you'll have to reset your settings all over again. It is however, the simplest and easiest way to solve the version of the bug I have.
Another way, if you're in space, is to CTRL-F9 out of the loading screen, right click anywhere, CTRL-F9 back to the black loading screen where hopefully you will see the right-click menu appear. If it does, you can just select a station to dock into. I found that (sometimes) the process of docking will reset the black loading screen, since the docking procedure initiates a loading screen itself. I've only tried it a couple times though, so I can't guarantee it'll work as effectively as just deleting your cache folder.
Keep in mind that I've been perusing the forums for quite a bit (took me a couple days to figure out these workarounds, so I've been camping the forums a lot for solutios), and there seem to be different version of this bug. Some people seem to genuinely have problems loading the game, unlike this version of the bug, which seems to load the game perfectly, but is unable to remove the loading screen upon finishing.
Hope that helps some of you.

I get to the 'entering game as ...' screen just for the messgae box to change to reading failed and vanish, then the petitions take ages to load up if they do at all

I realize releasing huge patches like this is hard, I really do, but why is it that every time one bug has been fixed, another one pops up? I was working great when the server was up for the last couple of days, they hotpatch it, and now I can't play my main char. I've tried the fixes, they didn't help.
Ah well, maybe tommarow will be better.

Tried the things Emm suggested, but they didn't help.
My characters apparently aren't loading all the way, because when i hot CTRL-F9, it brings back the character selection screen.
I can go back and forth between char select and the loading bar by hitting CTRL-F9, but nothing I click on has any effect.
Deleting the chache had no effect on the game, other than allow me to revisit the intro movie :P
My main character because stuck just before entering a star gate in the Isanamo sector.

I didnt pull that number out of my arse. I actually tested it. 30 times. 3/5 times I get stuck as described.
This is an issue, and needs to be fixed

Same thing here guys. Everything had been working great all day up until about 10.30 this evening. I then moved from Vylade to Pucherie and when I tried to dock, everything started lagging real bad.
I logged off and am now stuck at the "entering game" screen.
At least I haven't had the "Lost connection" problem today which I had 5 times yesterday!

I was able to get it to work, just by sitting around for awhile. Once the game started responding again, it was excruciatingly slow. Seems to be an issue with a lot of people in a sector. I was able to dock at a station, but once I came out, I was at another black screen, and that's where I'm staying. Hitting CTRL-F9 shows the starry background, but no ship. Hitting it again takes me back to the black screen.
I don't think there's anything that can be done except to wait it out. Until either people are able to leave the sector, or the game is patched :

I had this problem recently where I would disconnect quite often during busy times. And take me 30 or 40 times just to successfully login in heavily populate systems.
What fixed it for me was this, Open port 25999 to 26001 for both UDP and TCP on your router or firewall. That should fix any disconnects not related to pure lag in heavily populated systems but it should at least allow you to log back in relativley quickly.
