You don't have to join a corp to move out of the starter systems. You can get an Industrial, pack up your stuff, and move about 4 jumps away from your starter systems. You can basically go to any station and call it home. I hope that helps you out.

I logged in, crashed now cant log back in.
20k is a great milestone indeed. Got exited when eve hit 10k, was really exited when it was 15. Game was atleast playble back then. But this time its just aweful. i am not sure Eve is ready for 20k ppl yet.

They had better even not concider bragging about the current user count until they fix the damn bugs and lag.
Who cares wether or not the server hit 20k players if half of them can't even play? -------------

The problem is the 500+ morons in systems like Yulai. Move out to where there are 10-50 people in a system and there's still no lag.
I don't even go into major systems anymore because of the glut of players lagging it like crazy. There shoudl be a feature on the autopilot - "avoid heavily populated systems" default slider is more than 50 players.
Seriously. Needs to happen.

The point is that a lot of autopilot routes travel through the same hub systems. People cannot help having 300+ in a system, since that is the peak traffic.

Hence, the slider. Middle is 50, left is "don't care" and rightmost is 5. You choose what level you want.

i don't know about you guys,but taking nearly 15 mins to make a 1 jump trip in a frigate because you're constantly lagging when docking,or waiting to jump,or waiting for the gate to activate in a system with less than 30 players is kinda anoying to say the least....

I do believe lag is created by people still patching... ...two or three more days and it should be gone...

na its not due to people patchin, they are hosted on a 3rd party's servers. It always happens when they deploy a major patch, thing is there is only so much testing they can do on sisi. Nothing can really recreate the problems that can arise with 20k users on TQ's muti-node design, other than err... TQ

No issue with that really,just that the timing of it's release is awkward since if there's problems right after patch deployment,like it's currently the case,and with Xmas and new year coming up,there's no doubt that CCP won't be on full staff until after that period,right when there's likely to be even higher amounts of people logged on to make matters worse...
