those 20k come for sure just from trailaccount ... please suspend those accounts for the time beeing until new hardware arrives :)
Please consider it real hard as I dont think it make a good impression to a noob if he sees that mess of lag
The good part is .. that some part of the university works .. and the market works :)
I have shut down the AUDIO now .. and think I got some extra speed out of it :)

Actually those who can play are and those who can't are waiting for the server to loose some of the lag so they can. There is like 15 players sitting in a station in syndicate region just waiting for the lag that has blanketed over that region to pass....it's like huge lag spikes....one minute it's fine and then a second later everything lags worse then jumping into a 150 man fleet with drones drones dropped

this really needs sorting out now been going on long enough and those ppl who are whining that people are whining then get lost, i pay a subscription like all others and if they are not getting what they paid for then they have a right to whine full stop. CCP need to stop hanging on to this 'most concurrent users in the world' crap and stop trying to look good. if WoW can do it with millions of users (yes literally) then im sure CCP can with 20000 concurrent users, damn they have aroudn 70000 subs paying a tenner a month, damn thats ú700k a month ffs, so please dont tell me they cant afford to get the hardware sorted, or pay for extra developers to sort any software issues out, im also ****ed off cause ive lost 15 skills just like that, stuff like second level learning etc!! and other stuff since this upgrade. this performance issue was going on BEFORE RMR was installed.

Just thought I would point out that there are only about 2000 trial accounts online at PEAK HOURS, any trial user can check this by reading the page that is brought up whenever they log in. This page also states that the cluster will not allow more than 3000 trial accounts to log in at any one time. So of the 20k users online right now, only 2100 of them are trial accounts, the other 18,000 are paid accounts! So people please, I'm willing to bet that none of you are educated in distributed systems or anything like that, so stop blaming trial accounts for all of your problems and try reading the dev blogs which clearly point out the reasons for the lag problems in some nodes.

A large number of people who are 'stuck' as you describe are going to figure out that the lag won't magically disappear if they just sit there. So they'll log out and go do something else for a while.
I'm sorry you're lagging. I haven't had any new lag since RMR launched. The area around Ours is about as laggy for me as pre-patch, and the rest of the game is lag-free for me.

im not blaming trial but suggesting to halt them in times of upgrade until everything is ok. are you a politician you seem to talk a lot of ****e
lol if just logged back into eve and only 18k users online and the lag is now exceptible for me so with your figures im right ...drop the trial accounts

Dariel Ignitious ... I cant justify the information you were given were is it stated that only 3000 Trialaccount are allowed at any given time ?
Are you an Alt of a Gamemaster or where did you get that Information about 2100 Trial Accounts are logged it ....
and if that ist true ... 20.000 logged it , 2100 Trials ... 10% Noobs starting in STARTER Systems and that is alot to get that lag
fly through jita or isanamo and tell me that there is no lag ;)

You do seem to care how many people are online otherwise you wouldn't be asking for CCP to stop trial accounts from loggin in.
Please elaborate on how you found out that stopping trial account characters from logging in will improve performance in the few places where it is really bad now btw. I'd love to know, and I bet CCP would be interested too.

Well I am glad you are lag free....but there are many who aren't...and to who ever said it was on the client's end....I don't think this many people would all be having the same issue on their client side. Obviously this is server side issue....if you are not experiencing the issue then don't post in here....let us vent since we can't play the game we PAY to play we gotta do something. I really dont get what everyone's technical problems are...
I simply reinstalled the entire client after backing up my settings folder, changed my .ini file to increase memory buffer and I am zipping around in 200 man fleet battles, 100 to a side.

Edited by: Ranger 1 on 19/12/2005 03:29:59 Here is a thought, get out of the lagging systems.
There aren't very many of them, most of EVE is running fine.
Just for a couple of days consider sucking up to another agent.
I feel for the small minority that are having issue's, but sitting in a problem system crying about it helps no one, including yourself.
It's really not that difficult a concept.

From the bottom of my heart, I truely appreciate being allowed to be a customer, thank you!"
Or as an adult do you complain to management, and express your disatisfaction with the service you recieved.
Whether youre a fan boy or not, theres 1 thing bigger than CCP, theres one thing more important than Tombs nerfbat, theres something more pink than eris...
We are customers, and as such, reserve the right to complain when service does not reach satisfactory levels.

I always hate these posts.
We pay for the game. I don't feel that when I pay for something I need to be grateful that it sort of works. In any game I expect to get what I pay for.
That being said, I haven't experienced much lag. It's unfortunate that the downtime had to happen over the weekend, but I'll survive. I really do love this game, and since I can just select a long skill and play CIV IV while I wait I don't really mind the minor inconvenience.
EVE is the most perfect game in terms of downtime. So long as you know the DT is coming you can mitigate the inconvenience by selecting a long skill. No other game I've played has been designed so well in this regards.

Me and my wife operate in a 0.0 system, in a region thats extremely quiet, often its just me and her in the system, we are getting lag just as bad there, in fact I went to Rens earlier to buy some stuff and the lag was actualy better there than our little empty 0.0 system :)
Not moaning though, it'll right itself in the end (hopefully) just pointing out that the lag isnt just in high population areas :)

What's probably happening is your uncrowded system is being handled by the same server that is also handling a crowded system. Or there's a ton of uncrowded systems on that CPU.

Been operating two accounts, in gangs of 5-15 people, setting up bubbles and fighting with drone ships.
Lag? Yep, maybe a full half second or so, not counting one random system we had to pass through.
Some nodes are worse than others, and all the people who refuse to leave Jita and Oursulaert to do missions, and then come here to complain, they simply have no restraint.
Go to a quieter system with a nice agent.
As for the people who claim to be out in 0.0, with no one else around, and still having lag... well, that is, no sarcasm, too bad. I haven't had significant problems besides the reboots.
Everyone come on up to Pureblind, it's fast enough to mash your function keys and have things explode.

The kneepad warriors need to shut their cakeholes.
Last time I logged in it was laggy as hell in a deserted system.
How are they supposed to know there's a problem if nobody complains? You could have %10 of your customers lagging out, unless you got hundreds of people whining about it on the boards, you wouldn't know there was a problem.
Whoever said the community here had a high IQ was on drugs, some of you are dumber than the average wow-player. "Be grateful?" Excuse me, when you come to my house and give me free head I'll be grateful, until then I'll expect snappy server performance.
If you think I'm doing the game a disservice then you know nothing about business.
Things get built and invented out of necessity, not by having a bunch of complacent COWS for customers.
