Lag started for me about 19:00 GMT, just as the first people in chat started to talk about "over 20k". Lag varied between 10 second to near 1 minute. It was pointless to continue so I did my part to reduce lag - logged out.
I doubt this has anything to do with CPU. Its most likely a revisit of the pre-solid-state problems. Queued database commands because of I/O limitations.

Originally by: w0rmy Or as an adult do you complain to management, and express your disatisfaction with the service you recieved.
Of course, as an adult, you would also read the public statements of the company pertaining to the problems you are having with their service. You would see that they are admitting there are problems, and detailing their plans to solve them, and the expectecd timescale of the solution. Then, as an adult, you have a decision to make. You can either continue to use the service with the known problems, or you can cease to do so, at least until the planned and advertised improvements have been made.
Continuing to complain about the problem is not going to bring the expected timescale for the solution forward even 1 minute.

Yes, a good suggestion. Places to look would be here, here, here, here and here. Oh, and here

just a quick question! since friday i had times of lag, times of no lag at all and times of lag occuring in stations only.
is this happening for the whole community at the same time or are these the results of server resources being shifted? any way to predict this to lets say avoid fleet battles in a certain area for a certain time?
all in all i'm impressed with RMR and i think one of the BIG problems CCP got with every patch is that you simply can NOT test what 19 or now 20k ppl storming the new builds will do exactly... _________________________________ just because you are not paranoid doesn't mean i'm not following!

Ive have had periods where i suffered lag / times when i didnt. Ive had time when its frustraighted me and time when i look at all the new stuff and i feel great. But im mature enough to know that there isnt a game out there like this in the world, its cutting edge and everythign with all cutting edge thing come snags and problems. CCP are obviously aware of the problems and im happy with the improvements threy are making and untill then i will play when the times are good and not when i cant. Yes its not perfect but i know CCP will get ontop of it.
The one thing i do have to add is- is all the critism and flaming constructive? So far i havent read 1 constuctive post here. If you want to help get the game sorted send valid patitions reporting valid bugs - this way it will help ccp sort out the problems faster. These guy are only human and as far as i can seer doign there very best. How would you like to turn up to work and have 1000 email saying your rubbish when you have been working you a*s off to get the game going.
They know there are problems - they know your all unhappy. Lets stop the unconstuctive posts now and see if we can help them out instead of making there jobs harder

Hi,
I had some lag, 2 accounts running 1 lagging the other not, prob due to them being on different servers one with less demand than the other.
This happened around the 20k player mark, if they servers can't handle the load or the pipes can't, then either cap the max players ! "People will not be happy finding out that they can't log in when they pay for a service" or "Take away trial accounts as the system clearly can't handle the load that its got now never mind anymore".
people out there with no lag then your lucky but that doesn't mean it isn't around so don't mock other people letting CCP know there are issues.

Constructive critisicm is good! Unfortunately a lot of posts here on the General Discussion board have turned into 'OMGWTF Whine-a-thons'.
I honestly don't think the performance issues last night were solely connected to us hitting the 20K mark. I was experiencing login problems and slow UI response earlier in the day also when there were just 15K-17K of users on. I think it's more a case of there being generally more 'active' users logged in trying out new features etc. and it's taking a performance hit on the system.
I have every confidence that the guys at CCP will iron these performance issues out in due time. In the meantime we all have to keep sending in informative feedback (ie. not OMG-LAAAAG!) and plan ahead with the expectation of further unscheduled downtime.

So shut your traps. CCP has got its work cut out.
This is UNPLAYABLE.
Why? Just as you complain about the lagg you have we who can play EVE without any lag has all rights to say what feel about it!
I'm running two accounts and both of them worked perfectly yesterday when over 20k users were online, so I don't agree with you at all.

It's node-dependant. A lot of people might be connecting to the same node, and so it's producing a fair bit of lag. Also if you're in a location, like Jita, and the node is already filled with a fair bit of .. well everything, it's going to be working hard to get all the relivant information to you, aswell as other people in other important systems.
Just wait it out, I know you pay for a service and what-not. But CCP do genuinly love this game, and they won't leave it like this. They're even spending millions of dollars on new hardware just for us. They don't love the money they get, that's just the bonus...
Have faith in CCP, and just try to live in another system for a bit, were there's not so much traffic. Hell, come down to HM-UVD, I'll rat with you or something...

Yeah we've had some lag, cost us a few ships in fights where we've had to jump in, some systems in 0.0 have been like 10 min activation times, it happens and is depndant on the node. CCP are doing their best and it's appreciated.
