Hi guys, Typhoon was my first battleship and then the fleet issue. Now I fly a CNR which does level 4 missions in good times .I tried machariel which I think was a great ship but I didn't like the style since I couldn't hit anything small below 20km.I was reading about typhoon fleet issue and saw some posts with great damage fits .I also tried a rattlesnake and this thing was really fun and good applied damage but don't have good skills to fly it.
1.The thing is will be better than my CNR for PVE?
2.Can the damage be applied good or the most is wasted damage?
3.Or should I gather isk and buy a golem or machariel or rattlesnake character that can fly them adequate?
4.What you think about torpedoes?
Thank you
PS My CNR has 900dps without implants 1040+DPS with implants and tech 2 drones. |

If you have to have one and one only and you're already that skilled in CNR, roll with that imo. |

All cruise missile hulls are mostly equal in terms of DPS. The Typhoon suffers a bit from a lack of mids and because shield tanking is so good for level 4s.
Quote:2.Can the damage be applied good or the most is wasted damage? 2x Rigor rigs, 1xFlare rig and two TPs, will allow you to apply DPS effectively. CNR's explosion radius bonus helps with that, but it's not that great if you have maxed your missile support skills.
Quote:3.Or should I gather isk and buy a golem or machariel or rattlesnake character that can fly them adequate? Golem, meh, only if you want to salvage/loot on the fly. Mach is always nice, but it requires a different set of skills and flying style. I would go with a Domi over a Rattlesnake unless you really want a passive tank.
Quote:4.What you think about torpedoes? Cruise missiles are the new torpedo, but without the range limitations.
The CNR is probably your "best" choice because of the explosion radius bonus, because of the missile velocity bonus (less volley counting, less DPS loss to bad volley counting,) and because you can already fly it.
edit: Or you can just fly a Raven. The CNR isn't hugely better than the Raven nowadays. |

Mach for lvl4s. You have a web for hitting "anything small". If that something small is a frigate that's what your light drones are for. You have ACs fitted to the mach, I hope? Properly fitted and piloted Mach does lvl 4 missions the fastest out of all Battleships. |

I tried web and still couldn t hit frigates below 20km with 800mm cannons.Maybe my skills were too low. |

A fleetphoon has unparalled DPS outbput at range. With 8.25 effective launchers and the ability to drop a full set of T2 sentry drones, it beats out any other subcap for damage selectable, long range DPS.
However, you will need to spend some ISK on a good prop mod and shield booster to get the best from it, and your tank will be basically 1 booster, 2 hardeners. The Phoon has a small enough sig radius that if you can keep moving, you'll mitigate a fair amount of incoming DPS from rat BS, so consider a deadspace AB or maybe even an MWD.
Plus you'll be very tight on CPU, so you'll need to use faction for almost everything bar the launchers to get the all-important Rigor rigs squeezed on.
tl;dr: Yes it can work outstandingly, but you'd better be sure you know what you're doing or you're going to have a very expensive lossmail.

IMO using a mach in lvl 4's is fun but limited since the mach is around a billion risk for the hull alone. If you do lose it for an error that's a lot of missions to replace it. Its been awhile for me but you get around 20-30 mil a mission? when I flew a mach I compared it to a vargur (thanks to a corp mate) his t2 fitted vargur w/ a XL gist A SB out did in defense. my 5bil (including hull price) mach. Yet he coated around 2.5ish billion.
A mach shows its true potential if fitted with shiny mods on how I see it. but as always it comes to how much you want to spend and how you fly your ships. If you like to sit and take aggro go with the rattlesnake or golem. If you want to fly around and "kite" them get a man or even a tengu.

Having flown the Mach, Nightmare, CNR, golem and Vargur in L4 for years. I can say the fleet typhoon after latest changes is on par if not better in terms of DPS output.
However, like Malcanis has mentioned, you need some serious shield gear + implants to make it work with level 4 missions. Meaning you are allowed approximately 3 mid slots + crystals to tank the mission. In my setup, rest of the mids are dedicated to drone omnis tracking and the lows are for BCUs and Drone damage mods.
You CAN do missile + AC but with out the falloff bonus, you essentially have weapons split into two ranges which in my opinion is not efficient.
In conclusion, Fury Cruise + Sentry IIs makes Fleet Typhone the most damaging level 4 mission ship ever. But to make it work smoothly depends on your gear mod, skills and general knowledge of lvl 4 missions. |

A navy phoon is nice. I'd like to know how a artillery + cruise fit would do. I got one setup as a t2 ac with t2 torps it does 960ish DPS. Which isn't bad when its armor fit. |

Problem with fleet phoon is that is suck with ac and artys on it only viable solution is to go full mental and invest heavy isk in 2-3 slot tank spewing cruise missiles and b be limited with single choice of sentrys and that in my book rule gardes out.
So all in all it is like weekend ship for caldari pilots wanting to do damzel a little faster or any missions with sit and shoot setup.thats pve.
in pvp I believe recent big war show them us3less garbage on big/fleet scale. http://i.imgur.com/1N37t.jpg

I am heavy implanted so I did fit it with artys with 1 pg rig it can get only 10000 alpha and one second less rof don't rly offset low dps and awesomely bad tracking.
you either shoot missiles or you are doing it wrong. http://i.imgur.com/1N37t.jpg
