Well, my reasons for why i have left WoW for another game(Which turned out to be EvE). Happy reading
1. Mostly the community isnt all that good. The forums is just riddled with threads on "Nerf this, Nerf that", "I dont like this patch/class/feature, i quit!" and random flamewars. Ingame is just as bad. I was a member of "one of the best" guilds on that server, which sucked. Not because they where inmature, but mostly because the founding and the top ranking members placed themselfs higher then the rest, while i was helping the rest out, as a high ranking member, which just turned into a nasty battle from time to time. Also, some players tend to insult players at random.
2. The Bind on Pickup rule and the Class items. They ensured for a unstable dungeon raid each time due to the fear of ninja looters. If you can pick up a item and share it with others (Like in EvE), then the fear for ninja looters is so much less, thus improving stability in the dungeon raid group. That brings me to point 3.
3. Unstable dungeon raids. Pickup groups and some guild groups are almost like hell. You can always get someone who: A; Tries to steal every item. B; Thinks he is so uber to kill everything alone and tends to "educate" others by saying things like "learn to play your class N00b!". C; Doesnt have all the time or the patience to complete the entire dungeon and just leaves after his quest is done. And then there is the insane waiting time untill you can go into a dungeon with a group.
4. The free expantions dont hit well, namely the battlegrounds. Most servers are unbalanced if you look at Allaince and Horde. If you just have the bad luck of being on the biggest side, you will have a hard time to join the battlegrounds. Also, the upcomming payed expansion is pretty much forced upon you. If you dont buy it, fine. But the players that do buy it will always seek out players at level 70(not 60 like you without the payed expansion), will always have better equipment to brag about out of the new dungeons and the most irritating part. You can't kill someone 10 levels higher then you in a one on one due to the damage per level rule. A mage cant even hit the enemy level 70 player. Thus playing the game without the payed expansion will surely limit your experiance of WoW.
5. Unbalanced classes. I have been a Hunter all the time. Ex-WoW players already know why now, but for the non-WoW players..classes are/where not balanced. Hunters where the least fav. class to bring along for a dungeon raid, for a reason. We only had damage to offer. Nothing else really. We do rock as Snipers in PvP, but WoW isnt just PvP. The hunters wasnt the only class to be unbalanced and bugged. There where others to, like the Druid. Ofcouse WoW was new so bugs where to be expected, but to go on months without doing something good to fix it?
6. Customer support. Did they had any? I didnt notice it when i needed help. Well, maybe that one time when i reported a problem and when the GM's gave a repley next week. I also remember how the Character Control pages where locked out right after a patch. (To stop you to cancel your account perhaps?)
7. And one last thing, there are mostly kids playing WoW. The parental control feature is a dead give away. Little kids playing there first MMO on the net doesnt make such a good community. (No offence to the younger players who do know how to play and how to handle other persons on the web)
