Edited by: Kakita Jalaan on 19/12/2005 09:19:25 Do not accept this mission, you will die miserably unless you have 3 or 4 friends with you - remote tanking is absolutely required to be able to stand up to the damage (barring uber faction mods that you won't to risk there). My Raven with 3 appropriate hardeners and 12k shield died so fast I couldn't warp out.
ITMOD is a 5 part deadspace mission to remove an unauthorized military presence. Stage 1/5 is surprisingly tough but alright, with a couple Caldari/Amarr Navy ships (in the Gallente version). Amarr Navy Jakars are my new best friends (cranked up Navy Apocs), you'll find 2 of those there.
2/5 is a cargo mission, quickly done, nothing to think about.
3/5 I don't quite remember, wasn't to hard either.
4/5 is teh win. First stage of deadspace: You warp in and 6 BS aggro you, plus a couple of cruisers and inties (that luckily don't scramble). I managed to do it by warping in, killing 1 BS, warping out (and so on).
Second part of deadspace is even funnier. What is obviously meant to be at least 2 groups spawn in a reasonable distance from you (some 40km+ I think), around a newly constructed enemy stargate which is to be taken out. Here we're looking at 7 BS, 2 of which were the fun Jakars, no less than 15 Navy Mallers and a couple of inties and sentry guns. All of those aggro you at once.
First time I tried I barely made it out, without being able to kill anything. Refitted ship, tried again -> big mistake. They were all still around the warp in spot, killed me instantly
edit: the reward for this no bounty mission is about 300k isk, 1107 LP. ______________ Join the Family |

Just done this. I use a remote shield boosting buddy in an apoc - first lvl 4 I've ever had to warp out of (in structure) since using a remote booster ship. Damage on you is very high - would steer clear unless you have a good tank and a friend.
When I got to the second stage I didn't have as many enemy as the OP so it may have been reduced in difficulty - still very hard.
I know the rewards will eventually balance out but could they not have been set at a more reasonable initial level? The rewards for this "no bounties" mission are an absolute joke......

I thought that this would be a nice easy intro to the new level 4's based on the 350k reward and bonus, 500 LP it gives coupled with the 1hour 6 minute timer..... went in solo on 1/5 and did ok, but just took a while, so called in some corpmates after a d/t to give me a hand. Suffice it to say I lost my mega on the 3rd deadspace section, partly due to a little over confidence, partly to loosing concentration for a sec, and partly due to lag.
This 1/5 mission insanely difficult in comparison to it's rewards and LP payout, like a level 4 angel ex on steriods and lots of them. 2/5 and 3/5 are all soloable, but 1/5 is just suicide for a solo player in a decent ship with a reasonable setup. No doubt a navy mega or such would have an easier time, but for those of us without such toys.... I'll be declining this mission untill the rewards balances the time taken.
Oh, and no freakin bounties!!!!!!

Possible to fit speed mods and get away on warp in before opening up, or do they get full dmg on u at once?

Don't know about moving away and sniping - they open up right away and the apocs come in pretty fast.
Overall - I really like the 5 part mission - more interesting than the old lvl 4's and the faction angle is good fun. Don't want to be negative about it as it's obvious lots of hard work has gone into this and with a couple of tweaks it will be a good mission.
I'd suggest upping the initial rewards and LP's and then letting it settle down - and changing the 1st section of part four so they don't all aggro at once -
I wasn't scrambled and that's the only reason I got out alive.
I like a bit of a challenge but at the minute it's a bit tough - been offered part 5 of 5 - will try it later as I have a deathwish

Don't misunderstand me, I like the mission, it's HARD, but that adds to the fun. I just don't like busting a gut and risking my ship for a crappy reward.
First section is soloable, second is fine, third is mental! The webbing ships are the frigates, and they all seemed web capable and happy to use it. From memory:- 1st section 4 groups 6 maulers 4 apoc 2 ravens + 4 (5?) delta/gamma support frigates 2 Geddons + 4 maulers
All groups will agro of you stray too close but pulling one group at a time is doable. Ravens stay at 30-35K, Apocs and geddons close in to 5Kish, maulers sit at 20K, frigates close right up.
Second section 4 sentry guns 20-40k out, 2 BS's, 6 maulers, couple of frigates all in one group. Same attack pattern as above. Insta agro off the sentries.
3rd section.... from memory, and could be a little out with the numbers, but you get the idea. 20 frigates, 4 geddons, 4 apocs, 20 maulers, and 4 named elite BS's, Jakars, who tank like mofo's. IF memory serves, it's agro from the get go. Shoot one, they all pile in, but they pretty much ignore you until you open fire or get too close.
One of the Jakar's will drop the Marines needed to complete the mission.
Hope this helps everyone thinking about this mission.

2/5 is a standard courier mission, 40 minutes given to complete it.
3/5 is get a passkey from a previously un-noticed armoury. 2 apocs, 4 maulers, 4 support frigates. 45 minutes or so given to complete.
Easy.

Would it be fun to lose a ship you needed to do like 100 missions to replace? There is risk and there is RISK.

I managed to solo this with my Navy Raven. Had to petition to get that keycard tho. Maybe I missed something at 3/5? Looted all and still no key.
Hardest part was to kill those three hard tanking Navy Ravens at the last pocket of 5/5. And it was only because I was packed with Cataclysm missiles (thermal). Docked and switched to Wrath/Paradise combo and pwnd them.

The passkey should be in the Imperial Armory (or so), inside the em forcefield. If you destroy the field, you can fly near it, the building is in fact a cargo can of sorts that contains said key.
Funnily enough, when I lost the Raven the passkey was destroyed so I had to cancel the mission (it would have been suicide to warp in again anyway). Guess which mission I was offered next.
I'm almost sure the problem has to do with the aggro radius. The groups of enemies as they are are alright, but not all at once. In I think the 1/5 mission it was actually the drones that aggroed a lot of the people, but the point I'm really complaining about is 4/5, where I didn't pop any drones (having learned that lesson) and still the whole effing lot came at me at once, from 40-60km away. As can also be seen in the screenshot of a poster above (looks pretty exactly like my screenshot), the groups are initially in 2 packets. Each of them seperately should be tankable, but there is no way in hell you can tank 7 BS that go 500+ in deadspace. Plus cruisers and stuff.
Any chance of getting a refund on that mission? Don't particular mind if not, just asking for clarification. ______________ Join the Family |

Just got this mission offered a second time. The LP now was about 7 times higher than my first time and the timelimit was now 4 hours instead of 40 minutes. This was for the first stage. Also the isk reward was about 1.4 mill and 12k consumerelectronics in reward. So it seem this mission now have adabted to the average time and the rewards and timelimits are now as they should be.

I had to cancel this mission as the pass key did not drop after I destroyed the armory in the 3rd mission. Up to that point is was f*g hard but do-able in a Domi.

The armory is not meant to be destroyed... it is a spawn container. Fly near it and you can "open cargo" on it. ______________ Join the Family |

Is not "_so_ broken" ... is just a mission you better take friends withg you, as you said.

Just did the first part of this, it was fairly hard and even though there is no bounties the loot isn't too bad with Amarr tags giving a bit of a reward. ----------- Trolling - Ban - All I got was this silly Hat. |

Solo'd mission in a poc.4 hards 2 t2 L reppers.Often just had to sit there with guns off using drones and cruise.Had to warp out once or twice on the 4th lvl. Final stage is 5 or 6 Ravens 3 scorps cruisers and frigs.3 of the Ravens are navy Temura's,never seen anything tank like them ever. By far the harder mission is the Enemy's abound last lvl.It was a m8's mission and he requested help.I warped in,obviously by this time all the rats had come through the gate.Tempest ,phoons etc. No matter where i looked,i was surrounded . Whole spawn lit up and i was a gonner without firing or even locking anything.

What they need to do on uber hard missions like that is, put a big fix on reward system. It's hard OK but then make it worth the risk we're taking!

Edited by: Embattle on 29/12/2005 23:45:38 Arse that was rather annoying....my Navy Raven just went up in smoke, what was annoying was I was doing part 4 and had to warp out a few times which wasn't a problem but this time for some strange reason they seemed to suddenly decided to warp scram me and that was all she wrote, even more annoying was being unable to go back and pickup the bits that didn't blow up.
Stuff blown up:

Came to mission 4/5 second stage agrod by complete fleet that was there some 35< ships was scrambled and my Raven went in flames after less than 40 sec. I had all shield resistances over 80% and was repairing just below 2000 dmg/5 sec. with second ship. So unless ur able to withstand dmg. over 1000/sec. don't do the mission coz u'll die :( All that for a lousy reward off les than 2 mil.
