your opinion i think deadspace missions are fine. so who is right?

These types of missions confine pilots to an area of space that is so restrictive as to further limit any measure of skill that could prevail.
from my experience it actually takes more skill to succeed in DS as you need to be able to tank, do damage and setup your ship according to the mission then be able to work your way through the mission. unlike non-DS where u just warp in at 100k and fire away. how is that more skilful?

Web/Scram/EM means you cannot leave, e.g. you die.
afaik rats in non-DS missions can do this its just you are skilfully sniping from 100k so dont notice.

The problem is compounded by the RMR changes to ammo, esp. missles and drones.
what changes to missiles in RMR? the only changes afaik where improvements to heavy missiles. i agree the changes to drones aggro-ing rats is a problem but can be managed.

The risk/rewards paradigm is a joke.
and allowing u to snipe all missions from 100k with zero risk would accomplish what exactly?

0. Missions should be able to be accomplished by skilled pilots solo - at every level. 1. Improve the AI 2. Allow players to choose their warp-in distance with deadspace missions. 3. Expose a key weakness, however that needs to be done. 4. Have agents provide better information 5. Improve the rewards systems; huge rewards for huge risk 6. Highest level agent runners should have special offers not remotely available to the general population.
0. i have 30mill sps and can solo every lvl4 mission including enemies abound and IN midst of DS, my corpmate has 18mill sps and can do so also. how low a threshold do u want for being able to solo lvl4s?
1. i agree the aggro changes have made things more awkward but at no point have i seen any acknowledgement whether this is a mistake or was changed deliberately
2. No. this would remove risk which is reason DS missions were introduced in first place to force u to fight where u cant control range.
3. not sure what u mean by this.
4. how spoonfed do u want to be?
5. u seem to want huge rewards with no risk.
6. there are already a number of items only really available through missions such as implants and faction navy ships. i agree that having more variety in the offer system would be a good thing tho.
in general although i dont think missions are without faults, if u have seen any of my previous posts i have made a few suggestions about changes to them, i think the major problems with the mission system are twofold;
- the offer system is seriously flawed - the variation in mission difficulty within a lvl is too high and the jump in difficulty between lvls is too steep. this leads to players who get bored with lvl3s moving up to lvl4s when they aren't ready for all aspects of lvl4s and then complain they cant do them.
one last thing the level of damage output from npcs has been reduced significantly since RMR making most of the older missions alot easier. i dont see u complaining about that.
What he said:)
Lvl 4 missions are the highest level missions at the moment so they should be for the Highest level players or for groups of players.
I can solo most LvL four missions, and i do it with heavy missiles in a Raven, Angel extravaganza brings in a total of about 15 M Isk (without selling loot), Vengeance i did twice in a row on one afternoon with another slightly easier mission in between.
So yes they are solo'able, just not by 3M ISK new players (which would sorta defeat the meaning)
When I run into a mission or a part of a mission i cant solo, or dont have the time to Kite the whole bloody thing I ask for help from friends or corpies. Havent been there, havent done it and NO, dont have the friggin T-shirt |
