Me and a buddy killed a cruiser December 18, 2005. I logged in December 19 for a skill update and found that the man I killed STILL had kill rights on me...
Is this right?

AFAIK, the kill rights last a month. It's the can flagging that only lasts 15 minutes. ----------------------------------------------- MAKE THE MACROERS SCREAM |

I have noticed of the 5 ships I killed recently I only have 3 Kill Rights against me. (And yes it was 5 different pilots)
Also not received the -2.0% sec hit for killing 2 of the ships even though they definately blew up... Any ideas?

Edited by: Berilac on 19/12/2005 23:51:00 a month? Uggh. So, now not only do pirates have to face dangerious conditions, attacking unknown peoples ships where it could easely be a trap, groups dedicated solely to their destruction, concord, sentry guns, and people out for their revenge, but if you kill more than a few people a week, you can get hordes that can attack you with no repercussions for a month? Forgive me for saying this, but this has been taken this too far. There is no counter-kill rights item that has been introduced for the pirates benifit.

Is that for a ship going pop or podkill, I knew nothing about month long kill rights, so they can attack you anywhere?

Why should someone who lives outside the law enjoy the law's benifit?

You appear to be somewhat missing the point. The phrase 'eye for an eye' is used in relation to these kill rights for a very good reason.
The pirates benefit from the orginal ship kill, the victim benefits from the opportunity to seek their revenge. I don't see an issue outside of this.

Actually it sounds like two of them probably tried to log out to avoid losing.

Hey whats the point of PvP if there is no hunt? so you get sucked into a shuttle pop trap. lol. hey if you do the crime. you have to be concerned with the posse holding guns and sticks with fires to light the night. How it was in the lawless west. Dont just complain, do something. Channel macrointel meet with likeminded folks, spottings, intel |

That's just lame.

Possible, but I still got the killmails, just not the sec hit or the Kill Rights.
I guess crimes can now go unsolved...

Could it be that the person had negative security status? Or did the person engage first? Just guessing, but I think me and a buddy of mine have a similar situation. My buddy is not online now but I will ask him about a few kills he got the final blow on as well.

the 2 ships didnt get kill rights on you because they shot back, thats also the reason the -2.0% sec hit did not happen.

If your a full time -5.0 or lower pirate rather than a part time carebear one its not gonna make any difference is it.

I never knew that... but that does make sense thinking about the kills. Thanks Keta.

podkill = -12,5%
and pirates should be -5 or lower anyways, so killrights is futile. ----------------------------------------------

does the month include people stealing from your cans?

No. It's 15minutes for ore theft, 1 month for a ship kill/podding (IF they don't retaliate) afaik.

A bit off topic, but I have a question. One day I fought against a gang of people. First time forced them to warp out. Then they come back several times, warp out when their ships become too damaged. Finally during the last run I managed to blow up one Ferox before he warps. Strangely enough I don't see his kill right (to kill me) in the list.
Its possible that he attacked first, but I had a criminal tag; so I would think he still should have a right to kill me? Or is it just that I can't see other people's kill rights on my list?

The reason u never got a sec hit is and no kil rights is that they fired back , if they fire back u don't get a sec hit and they don't get kill rights
on my first day of rmr i got 9 kills and only went from -2.9 to -3.4 and that included blowing up 2 cans of ore and the only guy that got kill rights was a guy flying a hauler.
im so pleased with rmr i was dreading another nerf but in my eyes this is an improvement well done ccp
