Okay chaps, I decided to start doing agent missions for a bit of variety and after doing 30 or so for one agent was given a "blow up a drone and bring back the datasheets job" ... so, I go and blow the drone, collect the datasheets and bring back to agent. Only agent says the task is still unfinished ... ergo endless loop no way to get more missions out the agent.
I went and bought another few hundred datasheets ... put them in hanger and cargohold .. but still no joy.
Is there anyway whatsoever to unstick a bugged agent like this or are they effectively wasted time?
Regards

Mmhm, sadly i think at the moment only a petition can set them straight... at least that's what i saw the Polaris folks tell people in the Help channel yesterday... o.o

Jade the mission will time out, so you get a failed mission ;(, but you will be able to get more work from the agent.
And btw, it seems you don't have to bring the data sheets back to the agent any station will do, but this maybe a bug ;/

Okay ... the mission has timed out ... and registered a fail.
So, I start doing more missions and the second new one is "destroy an irritating pirate" (not as irritating as the mission bug i think to myself)
I take the mission, kill the pirate, bring back the sheets ... and lo and behold; same problem.
So,
With all these auto failures due to mission bugs will it;
a) ever be possible to progress an agent far enough to get a better one?
b) find a way to bypass or refuse kill "x" missions ... ?
and I wonder if the devs couldn't just remove them from the game at the moment since they don't appear to work at all?

Sorry to hear about this Jade. I've been doing missions all day, and had a similar problem.
But I've heard that a *lot* of people are having the same problem you have had.
Mine was a 'rescue VIPs' mission, and I shot the drones, and no VIPs dropped. I had to wait three hours for that one to fail :(
It's being looked into. For the time being, I'd stop taking these type of missions. If you wait 30mins* they should have another job available.
*I think. .

Yep, I spoke to a GM about it in help channel and the chap told me it was a problem they knew about and was hopefully going to be expedited for fix attention ...
Important thing really because I guess its a show-stopper for progressing agents.
Fingers-crossed;
It's funny; I can make millions with conventional trade but fail to please a chump-change pimp at the gallente starter station ...

I just had to buy 50k of ectoplasm for a mission, and the reward was a basic mining drone...
There are some issues. .

Well expense isn't really the issue ... but would be nice to think i'll get some return out of Charisma 13 social 5 eventually ... damn my horrible little rank 1 agent ... grrrr ! he's lucky I don't turn up to the meet with "little earthquakes" loaded with paradise cruise missiles for his acerbic little quips ...
[Rivelen] "ah madame constantine you have disappointed me ... i expected the pirate menaces head on a silver platter"
[Jade] "my'dear here is a stack of datasheets ... take your pick ... i have dozens"
[Rivelen] "not good enough ... go back and do it again."
[Jade to LE exec] "lock weaps and give the fellow something to think about."
*the Jericho Fraction Battlecruiser peels away from the debris and wreckage tumblng against the tapestry of stars ... another mission "failed" but a smile of sweet satisfaction playing across her lips*

... Am afraid you have to blame me for this one, Monsieur Drunken; i figured since i took time to drag the icky ectoplasm all the way from the unsecure space, i can charge suitably for my time given those who want to finish agent missions will be rather pressed to buy the item in question.... :s
... but just to show there's something like the instant karma, i was just assigned the 'Stop Thief' mission and foolishly took it to check if it's indeed issue for everyone... well there goes my 105k reward and the clean record with the lvl.3 agent... *sighs*

hahaha, that was your ectoplasm?
I have to say I'm glad you bought it down, and I would have paid any price for it. But even if you sold it at 10 isk, I'd still be loath to do an agent mission that takes over half an hour for 1 mining drone.
The only other option I had would be to refuse the mission and wait a couple of hours for my agent to come up with something more suitable. .

"hahaha, that was your ectoplasm? "
Aye, small universe ain't it; 'tis was quite a read in the sales journal... -.^
Was thinking of setting the price higher but then it's like you say -- i suspect if someone had to pay more than they can get for a 1-2 missions they'd rather do few more jumps to find the item themselves, or just let the mission timeout... but we'll see. :s

I've heard (but haven't had a chance to confirm) that the stacksize is important.
i.e. an agent won't take from a stack of 20 datasheets when they only want one.
Supposedly it used to be possible to buy any old datasheet and have it accepted, as long as the stacksize was 1. Dunno if it still is, or if that was ever true.
Oh, and the items need to be in your hangar, not in your cargohold in my experience. ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

guessing by the item in todays news, I would hazard a guess that this has now been fixed, and the fix will take place either at todays downtime, or tomorrows, as I believe this sort of thing is a server-side issue.
I don't play much on Mondays, but if I can't try it this evening, I'll try it tomorrow. .

Papa Smurf is awesome
I can confirm that the "kill the thief" mission now works as per the script. Pirate killed, datasheets dropped and a grateful agent at the end of it.

btw. The agent should be able to pick up the item from your cargo hold, and without regard to stack size. It used to not be able to do so, but I fixed a while back as far as I'm aware of...
Any more confirmations that it's still the case that you need the right stack size and can't have the item in your cargo?

I'll play with it in a day or two. My experiences with stack sizes were from before the faction reset bug days. Although if you say it's fixed it probably is. :) ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

They did and still do in my experience. They have behave this way ever since the fix was placed for the agents to be able to pick the mission objective from your ship's cargo and item hangar (it was not that way a long time ago).

AFAIK, agents can get mission objectives from your hangar or cargo space in any stack size as long as it's not less than the mission objective. It has never behave to the contrary for me.
