i know im weird but i think theres so much more out there than just BS. theyre great BUT so many gaps that other great ships can do.
so...wich of u out there decided to bypass the BS n what have u gonne for instead???
personally im going for logistics (Oneiros) and reckon ship.

Working on Intes and Assault Frigs atm, much more appealing to me than a BS atm.

I used to fly a Megathron but got bored of that so decided to switch over to a Thorax, had a lot of fun with that until I decided to train up and use an Enyo, which is even more enjoyable :)
Been using it to do some 5/10 complexes with a corp mate, personally I find the smaller ships more enjoyable then a battleship.
Currently training up to use a HAC, not sure which one yet, might go Deimos, or I might decide to go for a Recon ship instead. I've still got a couple of weeks left on Gallente Cruiser level 5, so I dont need to make the choose any time soon :)

lol I almost only fly batleships. I can flay assault ships, ceptors, destroyers, bc's but my good old apoc gives me more luv than any other ship. 8 turrets and plenty of slots to play around with
Edit : I can't be bothered to buy a hac, im not driving a 120-140 mill cruiser. Everytime I see a hac driving by I think to my self "haha you bought a glorefied cruiser for 140 mill"
Having to live on, one knows better than to value life too much.

coming up to one year of playing, i'm 5d away from a HAC, and i can only fly BS on the test server

I took almost 8 months to fly a BS - before than I stuck to Cruisers/AF/Ceptors.
No sense in flying any ship if you cant handle it properly -

know what u mean about the thorax. i thought it was amazing that u needed the same skills to use that u did with the brutix. brutix was a tremendous disapointment tho.
at present i have a miriad of ships for various uses, thorax is close combat (blasterax type of setup), cyclone, execuror is handy for minning too...lol.
got bp's coming out of my ears for dominix n megsthrons n the like but ..i dont know...just doesnt appeal anymore. to get to the Logistics u get very close to the BS anyway.

I fly BSes sometime. But I'm a carebear so I don't use them to fight. Mostly because I can't afford to lost them. I'm training for Interceptors at the moment. It would be fun to enter fights with those ships. Very fast ships. Also, the Crusader looks very good and it will be my first choice, since I've always liked the old Executioner and fly it all the time. Interceptors I would be able to afford to lose, as they're not that expensive.
But if I were you, I would think about checking out Battlecruiser first. If you're going to PVP that is. If you're planning on becoming a miner, you should of course aim for the Mining Barge.

jinx u hit it on the head now my friend. thats ny argument exactly with a LOT of people. i have no hurry to get to BS...whats the oint in having a BS u cant use at its best???
im much better as i am.... dont get me wrong..BS's are great ships...but so much choice out there.

As someone already suggested, a battleship isn't worth flying if you can't fly it right. I flew my first battleship (a Megathron) over a year ago, but it wasn't until very recently that I finally started feeling like I was skilled enough to use one professionally. So many skills contribute to making a BS effective.
Personally, I don't think battleships are all that fun to fly however. I'd much rather be in my Thorax, Deimos or Enyo any day.

Passing 14m sp and training up t2 large projectiles for Tempest. Figured it's about time. NPC'ing can only go so fast in an assault frigate.

I trained for frigates, then cruisers, then battlecruisers, and then I said ENOUGH. Battlecruisers are bad enough, there is no way I'm sinking endless days and weeks into training so that I can fly something that handles like a whale on Valium, I'm just not comfortable flying something that slow.
I'm very much in love with my Harpy and all I'm thinking about now is "After I finish L5-ing my last gunnery support skill, should I train for an Enyo or a Jaguar first? Or should I go for a Crusader instead?"

I have coming really close up to 17mill SP...not a SINGLE SP is in a BS exclusive skill for example large guns/racial BS
I can fly 3 racial HACs
3 Racial inties and AFs
I can fit tech II armaments on them all (so that means small and med specialisation on hybrid/missiles/projectiles)
Also can fit tech II Tanks on them all (not hard)
got navigation skills to the brim so quick flyin.
Do i regret taking the anti-BS oath? not for a second, HACs/Inties/AFs just do it so much better. Up soon is covert ops and soon after interdictors if not recon ships.

Inties and frigs, only time I flew a bs was a few months ago to npc a complex to fix my sec. After that I sold it.

It took me 6 to 7 months to get my first battleship. Not something you want to rush, assult frigates and cruisers are great.

Use the right tool for the job.
Battleships have the killing power to farm missions and belts quite efficiently. For anything else, they're ... variable. _most_ things can be done with a frigate or a cruiser. Just maybe not quite as fast (well, some stuff you can't break the tank on either).
I find a harpy to be loads of fun to fly, but I still can't really go ratting in it in 0.0 as well as my Raven or Scorp.

The Harpy CAN be great (and certainly loads of fun) for ratting in 0.0 Guristas territory...However, it's a lot easier to get screwed over by player pirates flying a solo Harpy than flying a solo Scorpion/Raven.
