Hey Devs, just 1 real honest question:
do you actually care about production in this game ?
i'm sorry if i missed anything, but i see replies and funny comments from lots of devs on lots of threads in lots of forums (mostly here but actually in all forums).
i do not see, however, any dev reply on manufacturing related questions.
is this because you don't know the answers to our questions or is it because you know that things are not going as planned and u just plan to stfu about it ?
it's not like we won't adapt, u know that very well.
but this is getting boring.
i am not going to repeat all the problems, suggestions and lost hope here; there is a stations & starbases forum filled with critique, problems and questions.
you implemented the NexGen manufacturing interface in less then a weeks time and u fubared it greatly. shutting up and ignoring the producers (has been done ever since t2 got introduced actually) is not helping.
please ccp, we are all still staying pretty much mature and solid here; there's no flame just observation. but you have to give us some answers now.
and most of all, we need stuff to be fixed. what can a GM do with a cancel job button (yes they have one) when it doesn't even work ?
you are killing the backend of your game and i don't think u even know it. check out the production stats, check out the market. it will not replenish itself u know, ppl need to build stuff for that. --

T20 stated in the Carrier thread yesterday that they were preparing a client-side hotfix before the end of the week. One can hope that it will be accompanied by a revised set of patch notes? -

I also agree with Ishida. The QS really should have checked the production system

Signed.
CCP we're on-side here, but we really do need some answers to manufacturing issues. If you can't give us answers at least let us know you're listening.

It's been my experience that if CCP isn't saying something in response to someone's queries, they're usually looking into the issue so they don't come here and spew inaccurate information.
Sure, there are issues, but do you want a knee-jerk reaction that could cause more problems later? Or one which looks at the problem in detail, making sure it's understood and fixed?

Edited by: Rie Nimodo on 20/12/2005 16:02:23 But why don't they say sth. like "Yeah, sorry, we were busy with fixing this and that but we have somebody looking into this and to care about you and your issues..."??
Wouldn't be that hard I think...

These changes hurt large producers of lag. They would seed thier bpo in research. When they needed more product they would pull the bpo out of research and manufacture. Then place the bpo back into research.
CCP was looking out for the other Sql jobs. They knew as more players entered the game there had to be a change. Either we would get turn based combat or batch based production. You choose!
I choose batch production! --------------------------

i suggest ccp makes people pay for the patches so that they can hire more develepors to actualy make the patches WORK.
i prefere a good working patch before a broken patch giving no new feuters i can use cousing only DT and lag.

No, it works perfectly. How about asking how it works instead of screaming that it's broken and demanding a dev response, which you're probably not going to get. The reason for not having a cancel button is that if they had one, the timer on the build queue would be wrong as it can't predict that someone's going to cancel mid-production. The reason it doesn't deliver automatically and takes all the mins at once is to reduce lag. It's performing 2 operations and only when players are present. Previously it was performing 1 operation per item produced and was doing it even when the producer was offline. It caused a lot of lag. A cencel button could be implemented but the best they can do is say that the production queue will take "up to x days" rather than just "x days".
You're not being ignored, they're busy trying to make Jita not lag like hell.

T2 Production is down to the bone of all those nice "next Gen" Idee you have put in the game. I dont think that someone who loves production has tested them at all.
Would be nice to get a Dev on the line who has the guts to defend those changes and not only duck and cover and want to sit it out.
PS: Just imaging you take away the Autopilot funktion from the client to "optimize" Processor CPU ... thats how it feels what you did with the Production interface
