Lets try to do this scientifically now, everyone put down the proper stats of when you got a new agent referal.
I got my Caldari level 3 agent from a lvl 2 agent after: 68 missions and Caldari state faction reached 3.01 simultaneously, if that has anything to do with it.
I got my Caldari level 2 agent when the lvl 1 agent was: Corp: Perkone Agent rating: Very good Agents Corp: Fair Agents Faction: Satisfactory (Caldari: 2.0) Agent Quality: Awesome (agent+15%, standing +6%) Missions: 30 Missions Failed: 1 My Char: 10 Char, 2 Social, 2 Empathy Dont remember last mission that triggered new agent.
I got my Gallenteen level 2 agent when the lvl 1 agent was: Corp: Chemal Tech Agent rating: Good (1 missions short of very good) Agents Corp: Fair Agents Faction: Satisfactory (gallenteen: cirka 1.5) Agent Quality: Awesome (agent+18%, standing +6%) Missions: 27 Missions Failed: 0 My Char: 10 Char, 2 Social, 2 Empathy Last mission was to 'aquire' something and deliver it there.
I got my Second Caldari level 2 agent from another lvl 1 agent after: 30 missions
These stats may be off 1 or 2 points, like missions, and my char developed during the time, but for the most part it was these ones till the very end. Also, I think my agent quality standing rating increased, I dont think it was initially 6% till my personal rating improved with him. Hmm.

Mhmm; i don't remember my exact stats, but i think it took around 40 missions to get lvl.2 and 60 for lvl.3
What would be interesting to collect: the referrals seems to come after carrying out specific missions... so, if someone remembers name of the mission that gave them the referral, please write it here?.. am currently trying to determine if the referral system got bugged along with docking agents, seeing how i got referral from my lvl.3 to another lvl.3 really quick, but then i got nothing from him in a long time. (up to ~100 missions by now, 3 failed thanks to the bugs, grr)

I don't think Empathy level affects anything, I think its Charisma as a whole, which is modified by Empathy.
i.e., having Charisma 10 and Empathy 2 is better than Charisma 6 and Empathy 5.

I think you get a level 2 agent when your standings towards the agents corp reach 2.0. When they do you should get a "special" mission. That mission gets you a new agent. Level 1 agents can't raise your corp standings above 2.0.
I don't know how high you have to be to get a level 3 agent. Corp standings 4.0?

Edited by: Hellek on 17/08/2003 21:51:49 I got my lvl3 from a lvl1, I think my standing also was around 2.00. The corp had no other agents in this region so I am quite sure that you can skip agent levels this way. I finally (about 10 mins ago) managed to get a lvl2 agent (I now have about 12-15 lvl1, 1lvl2 and 1lvl3) and now will try to get a lvl3 from tihs one, my guess is that you are right and I will get a lvl3 when I am around 4.00 standing.
PS: I got the lvl2 when I had 2.00 standing My Charisma is 6, my Social skill at lvl2.

Edited by: Luther Pendragon on 23/08/2003 05:48:44 Could you add in the agent quality and all the ratings? Not just faction standing. . ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

Neither Charisma nor Empathy are relevant. Empathy only increases Charisma, and Charisma is a raw stat which has no impact on anything in the game except for skill training times.
Social skill is a different story. Social will train faster if you have high charisma, and gives a 5% bonus to standings per level. But charisma is useless except for when you're training skills in the Social category. So in the end, the only numbers that mean anything are your standing numbers. (Unless Social skill is applied after display in the standings screen - Papa?)
There's no point in comparing numbers, since geography (whether there are any L2 or L3 agents nearby your location) plays a major role in getting new agents. ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

Edited by: Hellek on 18/08/2003 16:30:07 My agent's qualities: I only do missions for awesome agents and they all have/had at least 12% agent and 3% standing (now most have around +5 - +9 standing as it increases by doing missions)
Concerning social skill: It says
Skill at social interaction. 5% Bonus to NPC standing increase. So I guess that instead of getting for example +0.10 you would get +0.11 with social at level 2. It is hard to confirm if it works or not as there are other factors like the agent himself, etc. which influence standing increase too.
The attributes field of the social skill sayss: SOCIALMUTATOR 5 SOCIAL BONUS 10 I wonder what social bonus is supposed to do.

I received my first lvl 3 agent after 68 missions for my awsome lvl 2 agent. I did not like the standing of the lvl 3 so continued with my awsome lvl 2. Now at mission # 80 with 1 failure. Between #68 and #80 my lvl 2 agent has given me two more lvl 3 agents. Still working with my lvl two hoping to get a 3 closer to my corp headquarters.

with charisma at 19 and social at lvl4 id have to agree with whats said above i think the agents given out are based on numbers of missions completed i had to do 78 before my first lvl3 and that was completeing every one with no failures...ive gone back to lvl2 agent who refered me the lvl3 as a means of possibly getting agents further afield
