Why are secure containers virtually impossible to destroy. I did over 1000 points of damage to a small secure container and it still just sat there in space ,, and no u cant scoop them up, u need to know the password. (Wheres that lockpick )I would love to have my Cruiser made out of the same material, or even my escape pod its about the same size. Stupid idea to have invincibilty on a container.

Small got 100k hitpoints. Takes 4-5 mins to kill it with a battleship. Don't bother with medium and large, they got 1mil and 10mil hps

The idea is to prevent griefers from just destroying the can to spite another player.
It's secure, if you don't know the password, tough, go find something else to do. That's the whole point see. If they made secure cans more vunerable to people who just like to annoy other players, then it would negate using them in the first place.. I can't get in so I'll shoot it. Oh dear.
If someone's using a normal can (as I was last night) then they take a risk that someone will pop it (as they did) for them losing the contents.
But secure containers hold a lot less and make the player using them work a lot harder.
If anything, I'd say, let containers fire back to deter can thieves.

100k HP for small how dumb, is this because u had all these whiners out there complaining about their cargo getting looted ? Maybe we should all get better pirate drops too like CU"s from 1k pirates :)

They should give all secure containers about a week life, after that the 'power' is down and everybody will be able to scoop it up. --- soonÖ |

What's the matter species? Can't ninja loot anymore and you can't blow up the containers?

I'm in the process of covering my ship in these containers. With that many hit points no one will ever get through to the armour.

You've defeated your own argument. Destroying something because you can't take it for yourself, doesn't gain your character anything whatsoever, ergo, you must be doing it just to annoy other players. Any writer of any game anywhere doesn't want a feature that serves no purpose except to annoy players - cuts into his sales base - so secure containers are ... well ... secure :D
Piracy to make money is fine ... piracy to cause grief, podkilling when you already know it gains you nothing, and destroying things from which you can gain nothing, are not fine.

But what if you are at war with another corporation. You warp in and see some guys mining. But you know there are also escorts nearby. You don't have time to kill the ships but you could deal a blow to your enemy by killing his containers.
Sure it doesn't give you anything but it removes something from an enemy of yours. (kinda like killing a ship, you don't gin but the enemy loses a lot)

On the other foot Species.
You have ordered some weapons, 200 cruise missiles say, and you asked for them to be dropped in a container in space, or you are meeting the person in space.
They drop the container, send you password, you transfer cash, you got your goods.
What if you can't show up on time? Have to log for some reason, but still want to collect your goods, and perhaps can't dock near by?
Makes sense you don't want anyone else to blow up your container now?
These things cost a lot of money by the way, why should they be so simple to neutralise?
