The moaning has a purpose. Perhaps someone at CCP will read it and take heed.
It also occupies time that would otherwise be spent playing the game. If it could be played.

The lag is because of the 20,000 users. Nothing to do with the patch.
Rollbacks are bad, mmkay? As said before, people suddenly lose things they.... never worked for?

no, the previous ONE rollback ever in eve wasn't because of the gaterats, it was because a bug slipped into TQ that apparantly made the lucky some who knew about it a great, GREAT deal of money so it ****** the economy up, or so I remember, and CCP did a 2day rollback so the economy wouldn't be forevered fuxxored.
and NO, this is certainly not a time for rollback
the lag is because there are 500 people in the core systems hogging all processing power from other systems, and because everytime a node fails and people are disconnected, they all log on back at exactly the same time, now that cant be good for the system, no didn't think so.
little of the lagg is because of RMR per se, if anything only the new factory system in RMR has freed up a whole ~10%ish processing power on the overall TQ cluster, given the new system is 3x more efficient than the old.
move away from the lonetrek region, since that has worst lagg of them all, and go do something else other than agent whoring in jita and stop complaining, or simply quit.
and yes, I suffer from the horrible lag but thats because I'm a coward and use "safe space" in the autopilot so it takes me thru high traffic systems. but I live in a quiet constellation in empire that has no lagg whatsoever =)

I agree with the sentiment(And at this point its the second time I've gone and contradicted you personally tonight, Happens again and Ill have to log off)but can you honestly say that you felt no sense of achievement when you boarded your first Cruiser or BS or HAC. I know I was a giddy wreck waiting to hop into my Cerberus for the first time,Waiting for HAC 1 to complete. I might not have 'worked' for it but I earned that feeling.
As for the roll back,Was that something to do with free multiplying Isogen or something? Heard a story about it once. _______________________________________________ An tT nach bhfuil lßidir nf folßir d= bheith glic -He who is not strong must be crafty |

eh, eve was going haywire when it broke the 18k PCU record, and I was in 0.0 ffs and felt the lagg from jita there.

Edited by: Copine Callmeknau on 21/12/2005 00:32:56 Mine runs fine. I do get a little lag, looking at the response times I'd put my ping at around 1500-1600 while running BitComet (using up a third of my bandwidth), which for an FPS is unplayable, but it's not bad for a game such as this :)
Now I don't know about the rest of the players, but I don't particularly feel like losing a week of skill training, ISK, equipment, and ships.

The lag is because of the 20,000 users. Nothing to do with the patch.
The lag was almost as bad. It's worse now because of the extra 2,000 users.
Nothing is going to change, the hardware has to be tested and bought over. I cannot see the lag being fixed for awhile.
The forums are already filled with moaning/whining, none of which is going to speed up the process. -

Well, lets be honest. I had WAY more lag with 15K people online prior to RMR than I am having now with 20K online. This is a FACT.
So, how can this be a failure?
BTW, for those of you that havn't figured it out, this is blatant flamebait. The rolling eyes and statement in his sig tell it all. Then there is his tendency to end almost every one of his posts with Cheers or Merry Christmas etc... that is the signs of the Blatant Flammable material gushing throughout this thread.

RMR is a failure because it does not work.
It is not flame bait, it is within forum rules.
The nice greetings are to keep it light and not make things personal, something that you have failed at.

Here is an idea, remove the 15 or so orbiting npc from various .5 and up stargates. Replace them with a more automated system rather then going around in circles about the gate using up all those particle effects. Another idea would be to place ships at different places when they undock instead of having 15 ships undocking at once and all running into each other then trying there hardest to move every which direction away.
Just some ideas - constructive you know

Originally by: Dakath The holiday season is upon us. Players will have more time than usual to play a game that is currently not playable.
I understand that Hellmar sez the 64-bit stuff they are buying will fix the LAG.
Maybe it is time to admit that EVE hardware was not ready for RMR and to rollback to the day before the patch.
Then they could put in their new uber hardware and test it before trying RMR again.
It is not a bad thing to admit a mistake. And RMR appears to be a mistake in timing.
The level of anger on these forums is a good indicator that the deployment of RMR before the new hardware is a very bad mistake. The level of LAG is proof that it was a mistake.
Admit the mistake. Give us back a halfway playable game until you get things sorted.
Thanks, CCP.
what a silly thing to say. level of anger? let's say there's been 100 people angry, in fact, no, let's say 200. ok, 500. now let's compare 500 very angry people on the forums to a playerbase of tens of thousands. all of a sudden, it's a very small percentage that are very angry. this small percentage need to wtfChill

Lol..
No rollback.
If you are getting horrid lag then get out of the system you are in. I presently am on vacation and have spent 12 to 16 hours a day online since RmR release and with the exception of the first day I have gotten no more lag than what I had prior to release. But then again I have the sense to stay out of Ours, Jita, and Rens and other high pop systems.

Originally by: Dakath The lag was pretty bad after Exodus, but not half so bad as with RMR.
Lag is most certainly a problem, however CCP assures they are/will be working on it. I, for one, believe them as most all of us will say that there has been steady progress made with RMR since its' release.
But speaking of problems, were you here for the Castor patch? THAT was a better example of problems than RMR is.
A rollback, at this point, would cause more problems than it would solve. There are very few problems that can't be solved by the proper application of High-Explosives.
