That pretty much sums it up. If your members aren't focused on a common goal and working towards it, your corp is just a group of individuals doing their own thing. .

One of the most important things is having more than one leaders who are active and can give direction to the corp. Someone always has to step up, but its best if there is more than one leader in the corp.

Friendship, loyalty, common goals and the vision/will to achieve them.
But mainly friendship and loyalty.

Some things you might not have considered is your own forums for discussing things, finding that shared vision for example. A Team Speak or a Ventrilo server is also nice.

A good ceo with a strong game pressence.
It really doesnt matter what your structure is as long as your corp members believe you will help them when they need it. Doing little things like helping young players started will inspire a loyalty that is hard to break. As long as your very active and online lots you should do a fine job.

Good leaders makes a good corp. The leaders have to be fun to talk to, helpful and above all know what the corp wants.

Friendly people. No one wants to be in a corp with people screaming at them, they probably get that in real life. -----------------

What makes a good corp? Good leadership.
- Having a plan/goal/vision whatever you want to call it. Behind that, you can recruit and motivate your corp members to achieve something in eve. It may be the reason the corp was started - eg. a particular like interest
- Protecting the assets of your corp. Almost regardless of your model, you'll build the corp into 'something'. The CEO should show those assets the respect they would for the assets of your individual corp members, as they are the same thing.
- Share the responsibility. Get a good team together to help run the show, whether they be specialists in a particular area of game play or better at one particular aspect of CEOship than you.
- Don't be afraid to ask what members think, and then make a decision against the grain. If you have a good idea/plan etc., and the members have average, vague ones, or can't find a real reason not to do it, go with your gut.
- Be generous. Members give their time and loyalty. Support them for this, and help them even in their personal projects outside of 'corp time'. A Happy corp member is a good corp member. At the same time, benevolence is the way to go - don't cater to the biggest whiner - axe them.

QFT, Nicks one of the best haulers out there, just dont let him go npc'n while half asleep and not go AFK with high ends in the hold of his ship period. 99% of the above is said in RP. The Other 1% is personal, and should be taken that way. :P

What makes a good corp is the people in it. There really isn't anything more to it than that.

A good corp is where you can *****slap everyone with words in corp chat or being sarcastic on TeamSpeak and still know that you are welcome and needed

The realisation that personal wealth is secondary to corporation wealth.
If the corporation is strong you have a good safety net to back you up when things go wrong - such as losing a BS with lots of nice kit on it.
If the corporation is not strong you dont have that safety net.
alot of people will disagree with me, but consider this: Every pilots biggest expenditure in EvE is the ship they fly. Most often this is a Battleship.
If your corporation can easily produce ships up to BS class then you losing one is not a problem because it can be easily replaced. If your corporation can't produce then losing a BS causes alot more problems for you as a player (and your wallet)
Therefore if your corp is wealthy, your personal wealth will follow.
Don't ever lose sight of the fact that your corporation must come first.
I know some people will disagree with me and provide examples etc. This theory of mine has come about through my own personal experiences while playing EvE and reflects the way I wish to play the game.

A corp with pilots that you trust and respect. Also the most important thing of all is that the corp NEEDS TO HAVE A MEX WING, with out that your corp will be Doomed. Trust me!!!
When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite but I don't waste my breath.
