I am a new player, a few days in, and pirating sounds like an extremely fun play-style. I just can't find a "good" corp for it yet. Does anyone have a good pirating corp that I could maybe join as a newbie? |

Two bits of advice. The best way to find a good low sec corp is to go to low sec and fight them. Don't be a jerk about losing and don't be afraid to chat in local. The second piece of advice is that faction war corps and the neutral pirates in faction war space areprobably the most organized off the low sec corps. To find a good fw corp do the same thing but in fw space as a member of the militia.

Confirming pirating is extremely fun. However many new players come in and expect to be the Henry Morgan of EVE, flying in lowsec and ganking fat little haulers full of riches, ransoming their pods for billions of isk and generally living off the proceeds of their vast plunder.
The truth is you mostly end up fighting other pirates and faction warfare guys, the monotony being broken by occasional E-UNI, brave noobies or worm hole fleet that pops in. While you can live on the scraps you earn, it will hardly keep you in frigates and every loss you take will hit you hard. I've lived that way and its not easy. Bottom line an alt who makes income for your pirating addiction is almost a requirement and many corps, including mine, will not take players who are not reasonably self-sufficient.
Most established pirate corps have an SP minimum requirement and look at your kill boards to see if you know what your doing. If your kicking butt as a low SP player and your ships and not failclinic fit some corps will waive the SP requirements; some will not. I would say your already on a good start in FW. It will get you used to low sec and let you get used to fitting and fighting. Get a reputation as a good pvp pilot and you'll be in a pirating corp before you know it. |

To make the recruitment part easier, broaden your desired corp to "an active, organized, populous, PVP-dedicated corp."
This is because of what the guy above was talking about - that the pirate play style isn't strictly viable, economically. Not on it's own.
Chances are that if you find an active, organized PVP group, they want the same things you want. But they're tempered by the realities of Eve, and the way the 'meta' has shaken out and settled. They'll know what it takes to keep the lifestyle going, what's realistic, and when it's a good time to just have fun and get your ships blown up. |

Hey guys, just wanted to say that I decided I would join an industrial corp for now. I also really like the mining aspect of the game, so I will be investing my time in that for now. I decided to buy the game because I am enjoying it so much also now. Thanks everyone though! |
