After the Odyssey expansion, I recieve "CCP.exe file has stopped working" messages with all my accounts/characters. I have the following configuration:

It's very annoying because it completely ruins my gameplay. I don't think my problem is unique because I read similar complaints in other topics, but there was no response from the CCP. I tried everything, reinstalling my drivers, the Windows, the EVE client, but nothing changed. It would be nice if the CCP would investigate this error officially. |

Hi,
I'm currently not aware of any issue of the client, which is causing crashes with this signature. My best guess is, that your client installation might be corrupt. Please try to repair it as first step. If this does not help I would suggest to take a closer look at your computer hardware, for example by running RAM tests. Please report back here, if you find nothing, which would explain the crashes. In this case I would like to take a look at one of the crash dumps, but let's see about this later. So I am running into the same issue. So It just started yesterday. I have tried various fixes but EVE will open up to the splash start screen and then get through about 25% of the preparing data bar. After that it will crash (every time) and say "CCP Exefile has stopped working". I have tried all manner of restarts, virus scans, redownloaded twice after uninstalling and shredding the game files, and cleaning the registries. Nothing is working right now. I don't know what the issue is and I can't find a definitive answer on the internet search engines. Please help in anyway possible.

I did a surface test on my hard disk drive with Hard Disk Sentinel, it did not find any errors. I did a RAM test with MemTest86 V4.3.1, after 3 iterations of the full test suite it did not find any errors. I let Prime95's torture test to run on my machine for 10 hours straight and it did not produce any errors. I did a new installation of the EVE client and now I'm gonna use this one to play and see if the ccp.exe file error comes up. |

So as I wrote in my last post in this topic I did the tests on my computer and reinstalled the EVE client. It worked without errors up until now, but today it produced another ccp exefile error.

I have also had exefile crash on me twice since the 1.1 patch, both times at session change (once when docking and once when undocking). The session change goes through successfully--i.e., if I was docking when it crashed, I am docked when I log back in. The program doesn't hang or freeze or anything, it just crashes instantly. Unfortunately I did not save the crash info.
Several of my friends have also experienced this kind of crash since the 1.1 expansion. We've never seen crashes like this before Odyssey 1.1.
This is a real and apparently brand-new problem, though it seems to be fairly rare for most of us. Devs, is there any information we could supply that might help you track it down? |

yes my client is currently broke and I cannot update it since dt when it was fine after i reinstalled the whole game after patchday, which is why i'm here trolling idiotic devs. |

I have also had random ccpexe crashes, every one of mine has been on a session change, and wether its related or not, since 1.1 after sesion change, the system info/ap/mission info takes up to 30secs to populate(generally about 10sess). |

Hi everyone, it appears we found the culprit- it was a low level memory corruption bug in Stackless Python that is possibly responsible for a whole host of other crashes we've never been able to explain. In the meantime CCP Karkur has patched a number of the callsites in the UI that should be live already or with today's client, so crashes should be reduced. My crashing stopped after a PC reboot on/around the 8th, and as I leave it running endlessly, that likely helped if there was a memory issue -- some people are still talking about crashing still as of this morning, for reference. I have not had an issue like this before.
I was fine before the patch today, now I am getting the freezing patcher like others are experiencing.
I have tried the usual fixes to no avail, will persevere more and report back if I find a fix. |

You have the same crash than me, with a different ID number.
So, CCP will you fix that problem or not ? This is really unplayable, i can't play in fleet with my corp without constantly crash...

Sorry, we have a lot of people out of the office sick and at offsites and training- we haven't forgotten this! (Also, it did go out on Wednesday, but the team responsible for fixing it forgot to get it into the patchnotes, should have been put into them today or yesterday).

Im having some random crashes (not so common but happening). Usually while using chat and someone new drop a message into a delayed mode channel (dunno if this have something to do with the crash itself but.... )

Been having this problem since the 1.1 patch.
I've noticed it SEEMS to be event based - as my client can sit logged in and idle and not have many issues but when I go roaming in Low it seems to happen a LOT more frequently.
Possible Event Triggers:
- Jumping through a gate
- Clicking on a link that opens the ingame browser
- Searching for a pilot or system
- Accepting or Sending a fleet invite
Good hunting! Needless to say this is JACKING UP my flying time. And it's not just me - yesterday my fleet was separated by a gate and when ordered to jump in and engage half our force dropped to desktop! :/ |

hello
i seem to be having a similar issue,not sure if its related
i get a fatal error:error reading application id. Please write it to steam_appid.txt or use the laucher.
I get it every time,no matter if i try using the launcher,eve.exe or eve(safe mode),repair tool runs sucessfull but nothing changes.
working on hp probook 4510s laptop. Every mem test i run,and other games and applications running fine.
again not sure if its related or a different issue,anyhows help appreciated since i need to fuel a pos asap :)
EDIT: also the problem started today |

I was on a roam yesterday - about 30 or so in gang.
I crashed twice (total machine lockup) in 6 hours and at least 5 other people had their machines lockup too, so that's like 20% of the people in gang had issues.
Get it sorted. |

I still get some crash but its strange, sometimes i can get about 20 in one hours and some days nothing...
I've done so many things to try to check this but it's definitly a problem with EVE, not with my computer...
It's really annoying i wonder if i will continue to play like that...

I posted another thread as I am not sure my issue has aything to do with this but my client crashes every 5-10 minuets at random intervals. (Or DC's) whatever it is. Even when I use the .exe and not the launcher.

Since the release of Eve Rubicon i have been getting this error, never crashed before in the year that i already am playing.
I have the latest nvidia drivers now too , all updates are done. I am thinking this is some kind of memory leak since the last update.
Funny of all, the error pops up but i can get back ingame and play without any problems...
Please CCP fix this. |

We are monitoring crash dumps and trying fix any issues we can.
If you experience frequent crashes, please make sure you have the latest graphic drivers installed.
If you use overlays, like Mumble, or multiboxing software, please try running without those - it's possible the crashes stem from these 3rd party addons.
Try switching to DX9 in the launcher - see if that helps. The DX11 engine hasn't had the same level of testing on all the different hardware and software configurations you guys have so bear with us while we iron those kinks out.
If you find a reproducible case, please file a bug report, with logs, describing what you were doing. Getting the crash dumps with the full details can help us tremendously in tracking down crash bugs. See https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Bug_reporting for details. |

I'm having a similar issue with the client freezing on login while loading the captains quarters. The odd thing is it only happens with 1 account, my other 2 accounts login and load normally and I can play for hours with no issues. I've reinstalled the client, logged in using the binexe file, cleared the cache both manually and using the client, and I've run the repair tool but nothing works for this 1 account. I'm not sure how to pull the log files otherwise I would have posted them. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Things to try (that might also give me useful info to track this down):
- Ensure you have the latest graphics driver
- Turn off any 3rd party software affecting EVE (overlays, multiboxing software)
- Try the DX9 version (setting in the launcher)
- Disable EVE voice
- Disable audio altogether
