Newbies beware of cans offering free gifts. If you remove anything from the can, griefers can use it as an excuse to destroy your ship EVEN in high security space.

Dont you get a message saying "You are about to steal from so and so"?
So you should never steal unless you are willing to accept the bounty for your death, right?

But... doesn't it pop up a warning message if it's not your can?

If you are unwilling to read then you should be playing a game from SOE.
There's a VERY clear and OBVIOUS message that you will be STEALING if you attempt to take something from a can that's not yours. If you continue to do so, then more power to you but make sure you're hyperdrive is active!!

So, why aren't you playing SWG instead, then?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but when you are INVITED to take something, it isn't STEALING. People who use the pretense of sharing to attack others are called criminals in our society and griefers in online gaming.
Back to Evercrap with you, thou slack-jawed, dim-witted troglodyte.

Yeah it happened to me. Some guy stole from my locked container, (because it's not clear how to use it, I guess) I asked him where my stuff was he said it's in the can right next to it. When I returned it to the secure container, he asked me for money and then when I refused he killed me.

You should have killed him first, since he likely got flagged as soon as he took it from your can.

Um how can a mining rig take on a fully decked out assault craft?
He smashed me in less than 30 seconds.

You're not limited to owning just one ship, you know. If someone tried that on me, thinking that my mining vessel is no match for them, they'd meet my big nasty Prophecy.

Yeah that's why griefers usually only attack Noobs like me.

If you wish to question somebodies literacy at least have the good sense to proof read and/or spell check the result otherwise you just look like a fool

Where in my post does it say that I've been looting cans ? Nowhere! I have no idea what the message is given, but apparently you do.
However what I have seen is low security pod pilots dropping cans called "free ammo" and such like in newbie systems near gates and outside stations. Then killing the newbies as they investigate the cans. That in my book is griefing.
