I didn't read much but kinetic "laser" (laser is made of light) is no good but a kinetic Bolt of energy is feaseable... about as feaseable as a hard wall of energy... Aka shield energy. So if you can make a solid wall of energy with your shield g...

3. How to "fix" combat - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
I am not anywhere near PvP level in Eve but how about a module that you direct on a friendly ship that makes it (the friendly ship) harder to hit by everyone else so if alot of people set this module on the same ship it becomes very hard to target...

Ah spoke too soon, the fix only lasted a short time. The second restart of Eve on both conputers, both problems came back. Me CTD at Jumpgate, and the Wife CTD at the character select screen, but both are worked around by Deleting the Img file aft...

Yes it works on my Wife's machine too. She makes it past the login screen now. Good work

This seems to stop the CTD at Jumpgate for me. Yes the img file is recreated but it seems fine. I'll have to try this on my Wife's machine she has the dreaded CTD on login... (deleting the Img file gets her in too)

Well I had fixed the problem on my own then after a few days it popped up again. Then they patched it... it worked for a day or so then it popped up again. Still is a problem with the IMG file. Deleting it (while eve is running) still is a tempor...

Ok I think I may have it... It appears that Eve is keeping some setting data tucked into a "documents" folder and that is what is causing the problem... so a reinstall without removing the tucked away data may not fix the CTD at jumpgate dilemma....

The main problem with this system is the Griefer can steal from you BUT because he has a much more powerful ship, you can not get your stuff back. It may even be sitting right next to your can that he stole it from. Which is what happened to me. ...
