there is a program running in your system tray that is blocking this wonderful game from playing, i think it might be ati catalyst, but I've got a bit more testing (and a reboot) to do before i can make my final determination, but for now, TRY IT! i got online after stopping ALL unnecessary programs in both system tray and task manager and after restarting eve login client! like i said though previously, when i find the exact file, i will post it here!

ATI Catalyst is the driver system for ATI, do not close it...

in all truthfulness closing the ati catalyst control center (CCC) makes no difference on your performance, it just doesn't allow you to edit settings with your video card until after you re-open the prog, the latest drivers, v 6.11 addressed many problems and gave us ati guys many more indeed, well one for sure is i have definitely linked this to my particular problem!, after shutting that down and waiting for the right moment for my cpu usage to be at exactly 0% load when i open the client, i am able to get past status unknown with no problem, since then i have uninstalled catalyst and tried just the straight drivers at multiple intervals without looking at the load and they have all worked! currently, (because i like changing my video settings) i am downloading a rebuild of the latest drivers with the old tried and true ati control PANEL. if you are an ati person like me, and having the same problem, seriously, uninstall the catalyst control center and go here for the integrated settings tweaks: http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=Files&go=cat&dwn_cat_id=18
i'm testing it now myself and i will post my results to let you all know how it's gone.

it has been sucessful, now it appears that because i run a p4 with ht tech i'm experiencing everything else everyone else is talking about javascript:insertsmilie(' ','WebPost','text');
ugh(crash after load, crash when warping through stargate, ect...)
