Hi,
I decided to become an explorer. Completed the mission with Anomalies, then went on to look for Signatures. The mission is called An Introduction to Cosmic Signatures.
As I understand, the objective is to find 3 types of Signatures: Relic, Data and Gas.
With my probes I found a Data Signature, warped to it, there was a box there that I hacked and I got a Proof of Discovery: Data. Then I found a Relic Signature, explored it, hacked the box an took the Relic Proof. (it might have been the other way round, but still I managed to complete these two parts of the mission)
After that I had some trouble finding a Gas Signature I could warp to, but that was a problem with locating probes in the right places, I think. I'm not sure it matters, but I had to turn the game off for some time after that.
Now, after logging back in: I scanned for Signatures and finally found a couple of the Gas type.
Warped to one of them and received a message that I can now access a Gate, but I need a document I received from my Agent. The Gate informed me that the document it wants is a Proof of discovering a Gas Signature - the Proof I have not received yet.
I have tried other Gas (Training) Signatures but either the situation repeated or no messages were sent to me and I still couldn't access a Gate, of course. There were no convenint boxes full of documents in any of the Gas places I've visited.
Have I missed something? Have I been completeing the mission the right way? What should I do now?

It's not a document you need, its a sort of key. Go back to the station and check your cargo. you get given it when you accept the mission, so make sure you move it to your ships cargo hold.
Look at the mission details to see exactly what it;s called and looks like.(It's a while since i did this).
The key opens the warp gate, and the proof document is at the end of the warp in a container like the other missions. True facts: The Tarzier survives in the forest by disguising itself as a teddybear having a colonoscopy. |

Thanks for the response, Ovv Topik!
Still I'm affraid there's something wrong here, because the Passkey (you were right, that's what it's called) is neither in my item hold in the base where I received the mission, nor on any of my ships. It's not an item I can buy, is it?
For now I decided to become a miner and maybe try exploration later ;)
Thanks again! |

That mission "An Introduction To Cosmic Signatures" just requires you to warp to a deadspace pocket with 3 rooms, which are sample of what the various cosmic signature sites look like.
You don't need to scan anything to complete the mission.
Subsequent missions in the exploration career mission series are when you need to drop probes, scan signatures and use passkeys. CEO, Banana Moon Industries. |

You're right! I passed it just now. I guess you shouldn't play tutorials sick and with a fever - I was 100% sure that they wanted me to scan for stuff. I guess it's going to be easier to pass following missions. And I won't forget to take the Passkey;)
Also, what was a bit confusing were messages from agents that appeared although I wasn't ready to pass a mission they were refering to. It would be better if the game controlled that and recognized I was actually working on a different mission.
Thank you! |
