Ywev, I would really like to see how far GM abuse goes, please find a host and post the screen shot for us all to see.
Taken from the May 29th 2003 Devchat at EveGate . <Muaddid> Q: When will sentry gun and station and similar construction pods be introduced on the market? <Hellmar> we have various player owned entities already implemented. Sentry guns, power/shield generators, field repair mini-stations, mobile refineries. We are still working out the last tidbits of how they can be over taken, what is the penalty of having a sentry gun kill a n00b etc. and we have been a bit busy with plugging the holes that people have found.I would say that you'd start to see these items on the market in about 2-3 weeks, very expensive to begin with |

No, thats bull****, paid by CCP or not, it doesnt give them the right to demand that Ywev gives him/his corpse back. When GM's fly around in space they are fair game, they are a player like everyone else.

This is absolutely the worst case of abuse and bad judgement I have ever seen. Why they had to get the corpse, I have no idea. To me it seems the GMs are the teenagers - not m0o like every whiner likes to claim. Awww the poor GM lost his ship and was podded so he has to show that he is the man and get the corpse back...Sound adolescent to you?
According to their logs "they are busy enough without dealing with this BS"... uhhh To me it seems they wasted more time dealing with Ywev than necessary. They could have just given themselves a new ship with equipment and let it be. Or better yet, let Ywev wake up one morning check his hangar and not find the corpse. Who would believe him when he said "Hey I podded a GM but I have no corpse to prove it?" But now there is the added weight of credibility of logs, screenshots in Polaris space, and evidence of the extreme ineptidude of GMs.
Good job guys, now I understand why my petitions take so long to get answers, because you are wasting your time playing childish ego games.

First off, GMs are doing what they are doing for a reason, if you happen to do something that hinders that, and they ask you to stop or do whatever, you do it, They have a job, you're playing a game. Deal with it.
Everyone has to argue. They asked for the corpse. NO, you just HAD to not give it back.
[ 2003.08.16 20:30:18 ] GM Grimmi > we have a job to do and we can do really do without all this BS
They have a job that just might go on a little more smoothy if you just went along with what they wanted. If they threatened to delete your character maybe I may fully back you, but if its over a STUPID corpse, for the love of christ drop it. Dont sweat the small stuff. And if you did get the corpse, what would you do with it? Keep it in your hangar? Bloddly lotta good that does.
Just wtf is so great about a gm corpse.... Just sooo stupid to even argue over it. If you were cooperative it would been like:
Ywev > whats this about? GM Grimmi > we¦ll be having that frosen corps thank you very much GM Grimmi > GM Xhagen¦s GM Grimmi > please put it onto the hangar floor Ywev > ok GM Grimmi > ok we're done here
THATS IT, CAN U BELIEVE ITS THAT EASY!!! Or am I gonna get a reply crying about GMs hate all eve players and want to take away their stuff.
But really man, I dont dislike you because your m0o, thats not even the issue here. It's that you made a mess out of situation that you could have easily avoided.
Some people really like to stir sh... uh .. stuff ( ;) ) up. So chill out man, let it go. They have a job to do without hassle.
Edit: This is probably a repeat of what a few people have said, but I felt my own words summed up my opinion better. AAAAAHHHHHHHRRRRRRGG the typos are endless.

i can see no "logical" reason why the gm would want his "shrivled up frozen corpse" back. If their work is so important, why don't they have indestructible ships? Otherwise, i figure they are fair game. You can't fault players....who are doing what the game is specifically designed to allow them to do....who cares who the person is??? VIP's shouldn't be killable then.
IF their work is so "devastatingly important," why are they not looking at the root of the problem... seems like a lack of foresight that a gm is flitting around in a crappy ship? NO? If they used some common sense they would use invulnerable players/ships for actual "work".... Seems likely that, "A" that corpse is going to be worth something quite valuable in an up and coming patch... or B, and more likely, he's suck'n like everyone else, because he was podded by m0o..boohoo..lol...and was using his out of game power...to insecurely save face. What does it really matter to a gm..they can warp anywhere they want instantly, and technically have unlimited resources at their diposal. so who gives a ****e? If time is of the essence, don't get caught with your pants down. Use your bean and power prior to events..not cover up your bruised ego and so called wasted time after.... Aren't we in the 4th month of retail already? JESUS.

Bull****.
Yeah, CCP has exclusive rights to everything in the world of Eve... as they should. This is more of a PR flaw than anything else. I can't believe how ****tily they treated Ywev with the situation. Corpses are trophies. Noone else I know of has been in posession of a GM corpse, which makes it that much more humorous. What isn't humorous, though, is how he spent his time/ammo/possible risk killing another ship, got something from it, and then got it taken away. It's not like the GM couldn't have typed a /tr me last in about 3 seconds.
Ugh. What ****. Where are these charismatic icons coming from?

OH LOL. Save face? Why would a GM need to save face, he (or she cuz i dont know) is here to do work, not have a "rep". So he got an ass made of him, so what, they still got work to do. And If you're not a GM and have no GM experience, ESPECIALLY EVE GM experience just stfu because you have no grounds on which to judge the serverity of the work they are doing. If Yvew (no offece man) woulda just given the corpse back almost any sort of arguement would have been avoided and everyone woulda gone on their merry way and thered be no inane conversation and comments from people who obviously dont care if the GMs do their work or not. I hate flaming but i do it alot because of stupid S**t like this. So to be fair, yeah what big damn difference is a corpse gonna make? That was even a point of mine in my earlier post. And threatening a ban was maybe a bit severe. But a little cooperation was all they were asking for. They asked for some stupid corpse back, big deal. Not like they asked for all his belongings in the entire eve galaxy. So, to sum up my points for further flames by people who take thrill in disagreeing with everything and everyone: 1. GMs have a job to do, not reputations to make. 2. If you don't know what every single GM does especially x and g, you cant say anything about the work they do. 3. Yeah a corpse inst alot to take, but it was ask for out of cooperation not value, and not to just push ywev around. 4. Threatening was a bit much and maybe next time the GMs can also be a bit more cooperative next time also
Flame on.
And I'm here protecting the integrity of the GMs can i get at least a statement from one of them?

Because as you say he was humiliated. He does to have a rep, legions of players look up to the GMs as the people with all the answers and powers to fix things. Just look at the slobering that goes on in HELP when a GM shows his face in there.
Quote: And If you're not a GM and have no GM experience, ESPECIALLY EVE GM experience just stfu because you have no grounds on which to judge the serverity of the work they are doing.
Having experience is totally irrelevant. Im sure you have opinions or judge politicians all the time. Im sure you have spoken critically of a coach of a basketball game. Im positive you agree the acting on soap operas suck even thuogh youre probabl not a famous actor.... etc etc.

No. Plain and simple No. These people are GMs. They have work to do. They do not need a corpse in order to do that work - IE get people unstuck. Dont be assinine and tell me I dont know that for 100% certainty. Fine Ywev may have delayed the GM by podding him. It was probably an insignificant delay. But the GM then wasted way more time in the events that followed.
As for the rest of your post, its merely repetative. As for the request to flame you.... no I wont be dragged into that.

I agree with Ywev, this guys comes over and gets killed fairly and podded - serves him right for if as we expect bodies can be loaded with inplants then how the hell did he get defeated by, no offence Ywev, an inferior human, i.e. no implants. As stated in the story line and correctly pointed out by Ywev biomass is to be used as a resource for uber kit. All bodies being equal i dont see why this corpse was so special - its either that the pride of someone with the mentality of a 6yr old got podded or as we suspect he was laiden with lots of nice implants which with the right tech could have been extracted at a later date.

Quite the "BS" on their part. Regardless of the situation, Ywev was the customer, as he pays for the subscription for this game. As do all of us. A "give me the corpse" or "ill ban you" type reason is not good enough explanation to a person how that item is illegal to have, and it does not give any type of compensation.
Let's say you go to Walmart, and by some odd means, there is a ball on the floor, but its just not any ball, it's one of those smiley faces that drop prices, and it's a store only item that no one is supposed to have. Well, you go and bring it to the register and the girl gives it to you for $1.99 because all balls are that much. You go home and Walmart becomes aware of this mishap. Here's 2 situations, one is what the GMs did, the other is what should have happened:
GMs way:: You come home, as soon as you are out of your car 5 other cars screech in the front of your residence with Walmart logos on the hoods. The men have smileys on their all black shirts. They all point shotguns at you and yell "DROP THE BALL NOW" "DROP IT OR WE'LL BAN YOUR LIFE WITH THESE SAWED OFF'S"
Right way:: You come home and get a call. They explain that they unknowingly let you out with the ball and express to you in a friendly manner why this is a big deal and how much they would appreciate you returning it. Furthermore they will provide you with a $50 Gift Certificate for your time, effort, and cooperation in the matter. They also note that you aren't legally obligated to give them this back as they did in fact allow it to happen and that's why they offered the Gift Certificate. The man again apologizes for any inconvenience.
Maybe there is no translation in Iclandic for "common courtesy" or "don't hire unprofessional people to work for you"?

The point here isn't the GM's corpse, it's the fact that the GM can't have a clone, and need to make a new character for all those level 5 skills he lost. That means other players will get worse service while the GM wastes his time creating a new char. A GM does a job for players, and podding him then bragging about it is just pure childish. Kindof like seeing stavros brag about podding a guy in an IBIS on the IRC channels. Lame and childish. Random: 318144 Random: [RANDOM]

I really don't see what their beef was, corpses are just trophies (and biomass), if I was a pirate and podded a GM I'd want to show that **** off too. Y'all GM's need to grow up.
Also, I saw the GM that was podded in the station guests listing in that picture. So much for the GM can't clone theory.

GM claims he had work to do, and doesn't have time for BS - well, what was he doing floating around in a ship? Playing the game and slacking off on the job is the most simplest answer.
All players in EVE are FAIR game. That includes GMs, Polaris, NPCs, People.
If you undock, your a target. Plain and simple.
Why did this GM convo Ywev and demand his corpse back? Well, in my opinion - I don't think he wanted his corpse to be shown off to everyone. By doing what you did (especially getting one of your other GMs to talk to Ywev for you), you just made it WAY WAY worse.
Have an issue? Get a damn tissue. For gods sake. Speaking of which, put on GODMODE if you don't want to get podded GM, obviously if you have work to do, you should do that, duhrr .
Banning his account would be against your own terms of service - and to make a little more jist of this situation, could be violation of consumer protection laws, so think twice (maybe even 3 times) before doing what you did.

Perhaps the simplest answer but not the correct one. He was investigating an exploit claim.

Have you not learned yet all the rules don't apply. Espically when you are GM or CareBear or TTI. I've played E&B they have GM which were indestructable but sometimes a gm would hop into a regular ship and duel with ya in certain areas. Only thing that sucked about E&B is the game had issues such as lack of content. Lack of market also bla bla bla. But never did a GM threaten you with banning you because you didn't want to return something. One thing GM have to realize is that they are customer relation as a rep you represent CCP. If one thing CCP should not take this lightly if they do then they need to worry because this type of attitude will serve them no good.
I don't know but If I were to talk to my clients this way I would be on the sure road to unemployment office.
I guess this shows the inexperience of CCP to deal with a MMORPG and clients. Maybe they should hire some customer relation officer.
