Well, in fairness, that isn't actually hard. The thing is, most new EvE players are too busy wandering around in some kind of confused wonderment at the massively complex game world and the abysmal UI to even consider setting themselves any kind of objectives. With the amount of isk and assets the game throws at you with the current new player experience and the many new player accessible isk fountains, there are no excuses for being poor anymore. For veterans that haven't tried it, I heartily recommend creating a new character and playing through from the start again without any assistance or contact with your pre-existing characters and contacts. It may be quite an eye-opener for you.

I think the remarkable thing is how little difference it makes, not how much. Also, when playing with my army of veteran characters, I do not feel financial limitations in the same way that the majority of EvE players do. If it were not for my frequent trips through the new player experience I would be entirely out of touch with the plight of the common man. You cannot go back to being a "noob" again, because of all the stuff you have learned in your time playing EVE, but you can go back to the time when you couldn't rely on your past to supply your future.

One of the reasons I do it (apart from RP lol) is to check whether what I suggest to other people actually still works. Also, cos its no fun if you just send yourself say, 500m isk to start with.
