It only seems correct that there's a hiSlot module which would fill the position of a turret while only serving to counter incoming missles. There should be an appropriation to how each class of turret would affect the coresponding missle size.
The Defender missles seem like a great concept although they appear to be innefective in use and design. Why is more beneficial to tank the incoming missles then deflet them? It seems backwards...
The roll which should be assumed for an "Anti-missle" ship would be associated with the Destroyer. The destroyer rightfully deserves a bonus when equiped with anti-missle technologies. *as well would a command ship.
Having anti-missle turrets equiped which would not inflict any dmg upon other ships would also double it's effectiveness. You'll find more distinctive rolls being created such as the "Anti-missle Destroyer".
We can argue how all ships should have anti missle capabilities although I would disagree to some extent. Yes, defenders fill the roll as granting ships with launchers that ability but the roll should be directed towards something a little more maneurvible and fragile.
I'm sure others have ideas...

back in the day you used to be able to lock missiles and fire on them... while my corpmate would do level3 missions in a thorax i would be there in a moa with 250's shooting down incoming missiles

I believe your refering to a Phalanx or more commonly known as a CIWS used on naval vessels, CIWS = Close In Weapons System, i do believe they are thinking of bringing in a high slot module similiar to this but it may have just been rumour, regardless i would like one some teh uber machine railgun that unloads like 120 rounds in 5 seconds but does a 0.5 damage mod or something small with a awesome tracking, it only works when a missile is within 50k's and of course would have to be lucky enough to hit enough times to destroy the missile, since missiles have HP as well, this could work quite easily in gane mechanics as far as i can see, however just the logging and calculating of that many hits that fast may lag like hell - everything's limited by lag  ----------------------------------------------- "Acta non Verba" http://users.tpg.com.au/havoca6/Title.png http://glf.t83.net/ http://www.eve-link.com/glf/index

Now that they brought missiles "down" to the level of turrets in Cold War, more anti-missile stuff would just bring them even lower. Sooooo I dunno about this idea unless there was an equivlant system for turrets somehow (eg a defense buff that missiles are immune against).

I want a mini metal kite shield to stop the projectil and hybrid ammo and a mirror to reflect laser back to the sender :)
Hu ? how that its not the same thing at all ?

and what kind of high slot module against Projectiles and Laser do you think about?
Or do you just want more missile nerfs because you dont use any?

Its fine with just defender missiles as it is. Its pretty pointless having 2 modules that do the same thing. Stick with defenders, they work fine and are great.

Then they should make a Defender launcher that works in a turret slot!
Several ships have NO LAUNCHER slots so how am I to load defenders??
I was thinking about this tonite on my way to work, wish there was a defender for turret only ships.
