Heh, no the GM's are not allowed to give names, but we were able to confirm the culprit as halo said, also this mornings deltetion of his character set his name in stone.

And not a singly reply to my plea for a reason, cold, very very cold.

This is a growing problem, with the ability of having alternate characters and no mean of tracking, it's only going to get worse.
This happened to a corp. I was formerly a member of, the corp made it through but still it's unacceptable!
I work for a factory IRL, and we have a tool crib, we can't just walk in a take stuff, we have to "sign" it out. Now I know this prolly belongs in the ideas forum, but this pertains the the topic of this thread so I'll post it here....

We need a log of what goes in and what goes out of a corporate hangar,,, and by whom! This log would be viewed by the CEO and security officer!

Would that really be so hard??

I'm a veteran of the now-defunct Noir Enterprises. Same thing happened to us, to the tune of about 200 million isk. I feel your pain. In our case it was the CEO who did it, so no way to protect against it.

Many of us (about six) have joined a new corp -- still a small one, about 20 active players, and we're very happy. Trust can be regained, you just have to find the right people. In this case, the principals of the corp know each other from other games, before EVE.

Evemail me & I can put you in touch with our recruiter.

I hope CCP has plans to do something about all this.

There should be a way to mark items as property of a certain corp and if those items are in your possesion when you join another corp you take a major sec hit, or better yet the police attack you.

The fact that items cannot have ownership is a problem, it comes down to his word against yours. You say it's yours, he says you're lieing and that is the end of it.

And to add insult to injury if you want to attack them, by declaring war even, you stand almost no chance of accomplishing anything.

But then if you get ultra secure and the ceo and possibly one other person hold permissions to everything you can't run the corp very well as more ppl can't use corp resources.

It would be nice if there was someway to file complaints against a user for others to see.
That's fantastic, really, but we need more COW BELL!!!!

 MrGold,

This type of thing is beyond pathetic. People work hard only to have some slimebag steal their stuff.

As I recall our TTI CEO (Ragnar) posted once there was supposed to be a feature which allowed CEO's/Director's to view all characters on a persons account. That way you couldsee if someone in your corp belonged to some other company. Figuring most "sleepers" really have a main character in another corporation it's safe to assume unless they're running multiple accounts we'll find out.

My only future advice is KNOW your directors. I talk on the phone a few times a week with other executives in my company. Even so most people don't need these Director powers. Wallets, Hangars, Etc can ALL be provided for with the other commands.

I think it's sad someone would do something like this and hurt other people just trying to have fun. People play the game for relaxation not stress and agony. I hope your fine corporation doesn't fold and you remaining members can return it to an even higher level.

Good luck and best wishes to you,

 Calladen Nimitz
 TTI Executive

 Greetings

I wanted to offer my condolences and hope that you continue to grow your corp.It sounds to me that there is quite a bit of character and integrity with the group you have developed. It would be a loss to the World of Eve if your group disbanded.

At the moment I am in a small corp where most of our members have lost interest in playing and more and more I have found myself playing the game alone.

Being that as it is I have been watching the recruitment channel and have not come across any recruitment effort that has struck my fancy.

If you accept multiracials in your corp I would be honored to come on board and help you reclaim your losses. All I have to offer is a strong back and maybe a laugh or two
. If you have need of my services please contact me in-game.

MrGold ... are you saying your thief nicked around 70-80 million isk worth of mins and then after selling it on the market deleted his three month old character to cover his tracks?

Because if so, what an idiot! You guys will do far better in the future without a numbskull like that involved in your corp.

All the best on recovery by the way, you might have lost some isk but at least you still have your hard trained skills and the knowledge of honourable principle to fall back on.

Next time to the battleship should be much easier.

By the by, (and if it helps) Jericho Fraction would be happy to build an Apoc at cost for you (production efficiency 5 cost) when you get the kit together.

 Love and peace

Once again, thank you all for your kind sentiments, and offers, and donations.

Jade.. yes basically he sold the minerals and ore, then deleted a three month old character 2-2.5M skill points to cover himself. We doubt he had a second account, so the money has been switched to an alt, an alt CCP has yet to give us the ability to trace, or money we have yet to have the ability to follow (Amazingly though, Helmar aluded to agents allowing this in the future in last nights csm.... horse.... stable door.... bolting..... then shutting)

Calladen.. yes directors are chosen very carefully, but after 3 months in a 5 man corp, it was the ore and minerals folder that was our undoing, I would not have considered this a major area of risk, but I was proven wrong.

To everyone else once again thank you, we have joined the ranks of Oberon Corp (quality website
) and seem a really decent bunch of people, so we will be slowly rebuilding our eve lives there, and will strive to attain the goals we had set for our individual corp within the remit and bounds of a larger organisation.
...edited for speeling of calladen's name, whoops sorry

Dear Halo, You've teamed up with good people at Oberon they're a very good bunch of people and I'm sure you'll be happy there. Jade has offered an Apoc (I think it was an Apoc) at cost as well and I've contacted MrGold privately and will be helping him along with some items as well to ease your transition. I hope your members stay in the game and continue to work hard. The cowardly action of this "sleeper" is not a reflection on the eve community as a whole. Keep your spirits up better days are ahead. Best wishes, Calladen Nimitz

With people selling ISK on Ebay the temptation to steal 200 million ISK and sell at $25 for 10 million ISK is too great for poor or scumbag people. It actually sounds criminal and needs to be addressed immediately. Thats $500 dollars of peoples hard earned ISK turned to cash for profit at others expense. When your talking real money the theft of ISK turns into something really bad...

This seems more serious then just game theft and bad luck for a corp...

The only solution at present is to find a corp with a trustworth ceo.....all blueprints and ore and mins are in his control in sec 5/6/7.

sec 7 is for bp copies.....members can veiw only so can make items.

sec 6 is for origionals. High command can veiw these to make copies/research ect. but can not take

sec 5 is for ore/mins to make items with...High command and CEO access only....this does not eliminate the threat of sleepers...but does minimize it.

On a side note.....ceo and high command are people who communicate and sometimes meet in real life.

We had some complaints when we switched to this system. People were offended that we did not trust them....but it is for the better good of the corp and all members that we did this.

Kalear Fleet Systems expresses deepest sympathy for the loss experienced by Oberon Incorporated.

Kalear Fleet Systems currently has a complement of three staff, anticipating another four members joining tomorrow followed by another two in the next two weeks. We all know and live in close proximity with each other. With a base complement of nine trusted staff, we look to the future with high hopes.

Following such devastating news, Kalear Fleet Systems (KFS) has changed its terms of employment. In response to this threat, Kalear Fleet Systems today issued the following notice to its only outside, somewhat restful member:

 ----
 Dear Sir/Madam,

Kalear Fleet Systems is undergoing internal management changes. Unfortunately, due to extremely disheartening news (http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=26778&page=1) we are terminating your services effective immediately.

Along with this news comes a change of policy for KFS employment. If you are interested in re-joining, please contact me directly to discuss employment opportunities and employee requirements.

I'm sure you can understand our concerns.

 Best wishes,
 Riana
 ----

Once again, best wishes for future endeavours to Mr Gold, Miss Jones and all Oberon Incorporated members.

Riana Tabost I agree that your new policies should help protect and guard against this sort of action. Good luck with your new measures.

Kerry, yes I am wondering about the possibility of the money being sold, but i don't think this is the case with the money laundering and profile swapping. Our only solace, apart from finding and joining the very pleasant Oberon Incorporated, is that he deleted his main character, along with 3 months of skill training.
