In the real world the trails of aircraft last for hours or even days... the ones in the game last for seconds.

This is generally what the skies look like near Cleveland, OH and those planes are the size of a Rifter.

So why don't the engine trails last longer?
Thank You Obama! |

In the real world you'll be lucky to have 11km/s of dV by the time you're in space. Things are only impossible until they are not. |

And you get even fewer points because you compared airplanes to spaceships. Things are only impossible until they are not. |

Honestly, though, if you want to talk about realism, there is a pretty big difference between atmosphere and space. You don't scare me. I've been to Jita. |

Space is a vacuum, the molecular excrement from our spaceship's engines would spread out incredibly quickly. The aircraft trails on earth can not do this because their molecules are constantly colliding with air particles.
And before any of you neck beards point out that eve is set in a fluid universe, I'm just pointing out that on this one issue, ccp did get it right. |

Last time I went to America the floridians had developed a penchant for writing Christian messages in the sky with their planes. This is far more concerning than *****. |

also, space ship engine trails are probably plasma - hot enough to emit light untill it cools down, when it becomes a smoke cloud, and space, actually kind of dark.. :) there is almost nothing to reflect light back from, so everything is just.. black.. Return varied color to Gallente ships! not everything looks good in DARK GREEN! |

Can we please have meteors and comets in the game? I would enjoy a random titan or frigate being snuffed by a random object moving close to the speed of light, Gamma ray burst would be a great add too, Maybe some supernovas here and there. That way this game could be more realistic for me. |
