So I'm in the military so I've been gone for a couple months and all. I came back and went to low sec to pvp some and killed a few ships. One thing I have always enjoyed about blowing up a ship is the anticipation of that shiny beautiful blue orb that appears when the enemy ship pops and you are triumphant.
Every ship I killed I noticed that didn't happen. Instead there was a really fast orange explosion with flares spiraling out of the wreckage that was, (in my opinion) a lot less epic than the previous model. Everybody I have asked hadn't paid close enough attention to notice. Has anybody else noticed this?? If so do you like the new graphics for it? Or did you like the old ones?
Or am I just plain crazy and seeing things. Somebody please chime in here.

About wrecks:
Made them modelled after ships: raven battleship model - raven wreck model, merlin frigate model - merlin wreck model. Wrecks should broke and fly in erratic way, slowly loosing speed.
Explosions:
Bigger! Battleships should end their service with pride, and with blast! In a fireball! New CQ prototype |

Current 'sposions are like a fart in a whirlwind. Gone almost before you notice.
I would prefer ship explosions to be more like when structures go: HUGE BOOM AND GIANT RING OF ENERGY EMANATING OUTWARDS! Exciting, in other words. Another minor detail in the game that makes a difference.
Would very much like to see bigger and/or better explosions. Having several different explosions would be even better. |

That is impossible.
The Veldnaught is actually a Jove ship with an Amarr paintjob.
Its hull is near indestructable.
The Jove gave Chribba this technology after he acted as a third party broker between them and the Sansha. |

It needs a bright flare visible from afar, like before.
Without it, new explosions are extremely bad, small, and too short.

Yes to wreck models. No to wreck movement as that will only be tidi creating.

LOTs of people asked for a swarming-looking animation and they got it. Before it was just boring as hell and although i don't use missiles at all, the new look makes them actually worth looking at. |

new missiles are great, yes (except that you can't see the dmg type while they are flying) but the ship 'explosions' really suck. tbh you can't even really call them explosions. |
