This mission is really strange. All of the guides I've read say a 8 frigates and 4 cruisers spawn in. I did this mission in a Rokh so I destroyed them although my guns had a hard time hitting them up close. Then, the guides say that you pick up the cargo and go. When I finished the first group, another group of frigates and cruisers along with a battleship dropped in with a spider drone. I finished off the battleship with a few salvoes and then another battleship and its escorts have popped up. Do the missions change in difficulty with the ship you are performing them in? This is sorta hard for a level 2 mission (especially since I don't have the skills to hit anything that is closer than 4km)

Troll? If not, don't use a BS for a lvl2 mission. Use a Caracal. |

No, it shouldn't change unless CCP tweaked the missions when they did the Agent change., Usually there's a slight variation in the names and ship class spawning but the mission itself should be similar each time it's done regardless of your ship type.

That shows Cruisers and Frigates.
Anyway, the Rokh has a Drone Bay that should be able to hold 5 Medium Scout Combat Drones to kill the ships that get close to you.

Rokh Drone Bay:
Drone Capacity 50 m3
Drone Bandwidth 50 Mbit/sec
Medium Scout Drone:
Volume 10 m3
Bandwidth Needed 10 Mbit/sec |

LOL, fantastic! Multiple BS spawns in lvl2 encounter missions. What a fantastic opportunity ... and impressive that you could finish them off in just a couple of salvoes.
Did all that increased difficulty lead to you getting more of a standings boost than usual?

Often the best way for big ships to kill small, fast ships is to use drones. If you try with guns they often can't track the small, fast targets well enough to hit and if you're using missiles the target often outpaces the explosion of the missile and is simply somewhere else when the missile goes bang.
Drones, however, get out there and mix it nicely with little fast guys that get too close ... providing the NPCs' aggro is already directed towards your uber-tanking battleship.
And other-posters, please leave the poor guy be about lvl2s in a battleship. I've been running lvl1 encounter missions in my C4 tengu. Without turning anything on the NPCs don't scratch it and I feel very guilty whenever my missiles overkill the poor little beggars ... but it is the ship I had nearby and those lvl1s are the best way for me to get my ytiri standings to >3 so I can also access the pirate arcs via the Caldari agent.
We can build and sell pretty much every ship. Check my bio for details. Our pirate epic arc completion packages really are very good: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=12973&find=unread |
