CCP, are you at all interested in adding things like interest, bank loans, or any other financial institution in with the contracts system or at any other time?

probbly not because people would take loans with alts and then recycle = free iskies
however if it required colateral o.O

i htink it could work...using collateral....if you don't pay it back you lose that item....and you can't sell/trade/reprocess it until the loan is repayed or something like that
.....but the idea would require A LOT of work

Shouldnt be too hard, like an EVE pawn or something. Put in an item that has a regional average price of 100isk or something, you get 100isk, if you dont pay it back within a month or something it gets repo'd.

Ofcourse who give loans should do some background check before. Wouldnt be bad idea give players ability to verify their own skills in game.

yup. i was thinking of starting a bank with interest and everything, then realised a) people wouldn't trust me with 100mill, b) ...why SHOULD they trust me? and c) ...theres not much to invest their money in... so it went *poof*

It could be based on your SP, and if you default on the loan your character is repo'd and sold. Seems like a lot of work though for not much return.

I dont see why you need a loan for anything, all you need to do is go out there and earn some isk, its really not that hard.
You want something you cant pay atm? set it as a goal and work towards it, and sooner then you thought you will have what you wanted.

Because, just like in the real world, putting in more money (a BS for 00 npcing frinstance) nets you greater returns. Say I have the skills to succesfully fly a BS but I do not have the iskies to get me one, a bank could loan me the money against rep or collateral potentially enabling me to earn back the loan+interest+profit faster than if I had to use a less profitable source of isk to get to said BS the slow way.

The (very cool) online interface is nearly completed (has been in development for the past month+, whenever I've had the time).
I hope to launch it within the first couple of weeks of the new year.
More (lots more) details when that happens.
I'll say this much though : If (and only if) it turns out to be a *HUGE* succes, we have plans for both an IPO for the bank (something to invest in - yay!), and the possibility to work as a 'teller' (earning ISK) for it as well (ie. if we cant cope with the work ourself)

ISK is the ingame unit of exchange tbh - assets are the more important thing to have esp assets u can liquidate or put to work quickly.
We all collect a lot of junk over time thats for sure - so putting that junk to good is is sometimes a good idea

make bank loans be dependent upon skills? and automatically pulled out of the wallet? (with punishment if you don't have enough in the wallet)
