Hardeners Amarr 28,31 to all 35 with maxed skills price Caldari 37,5 to all dread guristas
Booster Amarr 2x Capital armor repair 75 CPU 250K PG 620 armor/sec. 4 armor/energy unit Caldari Capital shield booster & thonÆs shield boost amplifier 41,24 % bonus 366CPU 75K PG 903 armor/sec 3.8 armor/energy unit (can get to 3.95 with the best amplifier)
Skills If only the capital skill work on the modules the armor tanking get a boost to 853 armor/sec but the caldari gets a reduction in energy cost down to 4.18 armor/energy .
From what I see the caldari tanks better and have cheaper tanking the then amarr and the resistance values should be better. The energy use off the invulnerability devices is not high on a carrier

Meh, using faction mods in the example probably isnt going to cover your standard carrier's setup. More likely the pilot will be using implants that boost their tanking.
Some invuln fields, a capital SB, and some AMPs + full crystal set? Yum!

Edited by: Minuz1 on 27/12/2005 10:44:05 Forwords I seriously doupt anyone putting energised adaptive modules on these ships. Active hardeners calculations are needed to show comparable results(unless you think anyone is going to Cap neutralize these huggers.
In favor of armor tanking Basic resistances of Armor vs Shields. -Combined 140% on armor vs 120% on Shields -I think I remember correctly when I say that the best armor hardeners 64% are better then the shield ones

With a 20% resistance bonus and 2 35% hardeners you will have around 70%+ resistance to all and a lot more to things like explosive. And dont forget the drone damage mods are low slot.

with 3 64% hardeners Exp,Kin,Thermal and carrier skill lvl 4 Emp 68% - exp 77% - Kin 78,4% - Thermal 81,3%
then with 35,39% all round hardeners and carrier skill lvl 4 2 hardeners Emp 85,7% - exp 71.5,2% - Kin 73.3,6% - Thermal 76,81% 3 hardeners Emp 88,6% - exp 77,2% - Kin 78,6% - Thermal 81,5%
I dont know about you but i would tank with 2-3 all round hardeners.
