Was using Omen for cosmos missions (lvl2) and i can tell you one thing: dont use it. Maller does everything Omen can do, but better. If you dont like Maller, try arbi - can do also a lot of things, and it is still better than Omen (better range with drones + can maintain tank).

so, with basic skills, (no drone skills atm) would omen or arb be better for NPC?

well i decided to go with an omen, but i dunno amarr well, what guns hould i use? beam? pulse?

Omen:
4 Focused Pulse Lasers.
Afterburner, web, cap charger.
armor rep, 3 hardeners, heat sink.

Maller maybe for npc, is good to kill and to tank, but i like the omen, can carry drones and a missile launcher, and dont forget the 5% bonus in ROF. I use a omen to mine, i can defend myself pretty well with the missile launcher and 3 drones (2 med,) 1 light..

i play with a omen somtimes just for the fun of it, and i usualy fit somthing like
focused pulse lasers
medium nos
2* web or 2* tracking comp
one capacitor recharger or an afterburner 2
(more frequenyly the ab as it gives you a nice speed of about 600 m/s witch will let you get close and cut stuff easyer)
one medium rep
two heatsinks 2
capacitor power relays
i have tried using quad light beams to with a pretty nasty result, tears trough most things wery quickly
